Shameless BW Plug (H+R Springs)

#1

I know we talk about supporting our sponsors, but it’s easy when they give this kind of service: I ordered the H+R race springs from BW months ago when they were still $309 for the set. I needed them this weekend because I have some rare alone (read wrench) time without the wife and kids at home. Rob at BW got me the springs by bumping my shipping up to 2nd Day Air at no charge, and I’m set for the install. Thanks Rob and Bimmerworld!

It’s only shameless if you are affiliated with the pluggee (is that a word?). Assuming you’re not, you’re simply offering recommendations which is a good thing.

I’ve ordered many parts from Bimmerworld, and have bugged Rob many times for tech advice. I second your recommendation for Bimmerworld, shameless or not!!

I be interested to hear more from Rob regarding his comments in Roundel about the straight-6 motor, though. I thought this engine was the foundation of bmws?

This is the best news I’ve heard in a long time. It looks like I can finally see the light at the end of the H&R tunnel. Here’s hoping my west coast BW delivery will be mid next week. My wife is really getting tired of all my whinning. :S
As everyone begins to receive their springs please post here. Then we’ll see how it’s going for all the builds that are up on jack stands, waiting for springs.

Steve might finally start to get some company.

Looking forward to it! Let me know when you’re going to make your debut - if I remember right you’re already licensed, right?

Right now I have 2 new sets of Hoosier '05’s sitting in the garage which I’m DYING to try out (with the release of the 06’s Hoosier has the '05’s on sale for 1/3 off - I couldn’t resist buying a couple sets). So, at some point I need to run a couple races in GTS (or KP) to try out the Hoosiers. I am a bit concerned as to whether they’ll fit, though - the 225/45/15s I ordered are actually slightly wider than the 245 PS2’s on the front of my M5! Between them, 2 sets of 225 RA1’s (which I’ve been using in KP), and the stock 195/65/14’s, (20 tires!) my garage is looking like a tire shop! When you get your car done I’ll have to order a set of 205 RA1’s to fall back to spec; eek - more tires!

Steve:

Once you have a few Spec E30 cars to race with, you’ll forget all about those high-dollar tires.

The H&R’s arrived Tuesday and are in my hot little hands (it was 104 today). The front suspension will be done this weekend and then onto the rear sub-frame :cheer:
