Sebring on your Bucket List?

Best way to do Sebring… Joint NASA-FL/BMWCCA event weekend of 29Mar. Not only do you get enough track time such that you can figure out when to turn L and R, but SpecE30 can race with both groups. If you don’t have a BMWCCA CR license, get hustling and you’ll have it in plenty of time. Be advised there’s some safety issues to address also. Must have Fire Suppression system and I think window and right-side net SFI cert expirations are tighter in CR.

I approve of this message and hope to see hordes of Southeast SE30 racers at this event! Among other things, we will teach you how to drink Florida style B)

Hit me up anytime with questions. jfelton@drivenasa.com . If I cannot answer it I will put you in touch with our good friend Patrick Spikes from BMW CCA CR who is coordinating their end of things.

First draft weekend schedule is on the internets already btw, linked from http://www.drivenasafl.com/scheduleresults/sebring/ . Gobs of track time if you race in both groups for $525.

Racing w/ BMWCCA w/o a CR license. Chuck Taylor? chased down the details of how to get a “1 event exemption”. Cliffnotes: Show CR that you have a NASA license and you get a 1 event pass before a CR license is required. http://spece30.com/forum/16-general-discussion/75745-re-nasa-east-coast-championship-twofer#75756

Bump. Come on boys and girls, who’s in?

The trick with racing at Sebring is that it’s pretty much impossible to find a race weekend with a Friday track day. That means no chance to figure out the track. This 8 race + quals + practices is the golden opportunity to both figure out the track and race until you’re exhausted.

We can do a Friday at Sebring as soon as someone figures out a way to pay for it.

Anyway, see ya there!

For the SE racers, the Sebring event was a blast. They say Sebring is a power track, and it is, but it’s still a crapload of fun to drive in an SE30. A lot of connected turns that flow really nicely.

Next time Jon puts on an event down there where the weather isn’t too nasty, a bunch of you guys should saddle up and try it.

I’d like to make it there at least every other year.
