Well, as Patton eluded to in another post somewhere around here, my E30 is in the process of making the transition from track car to race car. The cage is being installed next week, seats are in the basement, a fire system is on order and with any luck the car should be completed by this July.

For anyone interested, I have gone ahead and set up a gallery under FPR for the build. More information is on my website at:
http://www.kchildre.com/bmw_project.htm

Thanks to everyone involved with Spec E30 for developing such an economical and exciting series. I look forward to competing.

Kelly, one sentence will say it all…NASA Comp School,Roebling Road, May 20/21, BE THERE. Seriously, I’m thinking that Laura will attend as well as Chuck, and maybe, Jack Allen. I’ll let you know as plans firm-up. Regards, Robert (I’ll need new excuses for being slow) Patton

Just thought I would chime in, as I am becoming an e30 convert.

I signed up for the NASA HPDE Competition license in May. Seems strange that I can get a license during an HPDE…

I am shopping for the car right now, working with David at harrison motorsports in Roswell GA, and trying to learn as much as I can in a short time.

So if any atlanta area folks need a hand preparing their cars, I will gladly drop by and drink your beer, and help with the wrench turning.

my email is coutub@gmail.com.
Ben

ps if anyone has a Kirk Bolt in cage I would love to see it

Ben,

Drop me or Patton an e-mail. Dave Cullen (I Don’t know if you know him or not) has an E30 chassis w/ cage (rolling chassis) for sale. I think he’s asking for about $2k for it and it has a $2,000 custom cage installed. It’s a great starting point. My e-mail is kchildre@mindspring.com, I’ll put you in touch with Dave if you think you might be interested.

Keeping everyone up to date, the car is back from Robinson Racing with the Cage. I have to say that BJ did an absolutely incredible job on the fabrication. Once again, pictures are available at: http://www.kchildre.com/bmw_project.htm and also on the Spec E30 Photo Gallery under FPR

Keeping people up to date… the car is coming back together nicely. I’ll hopefully get it sorted this weekend with the BMW CCA and she’ll be good to go for the competition school in August. Here are some pics as the interior comes back together:
