I’m very pleased to announce that Rich “Fish” Bratton is moving to the Savannah area. With AlK, that makes 3 of us here, a higher SpecE30/capita density than anywhere else in the world. Savannah, GA: SpecE30 central.
Savannah, the center-mass of SE SpecE30
Perhaps we should approach the city leadership with a contingency plan? Has Ludo purchased a car yet?
Ludo is currently in Brazil visiting his girlfriend. From what I understand of Brazilian women, he may need some time to recover before returning to his hobby of taunting us re. buying a SpecE30.
Sorry boys, Macon has Group 3 Racing (Walsh, Lako, Dominquez) and will be developing a few potentials soon.
At this point Dominquez is partial credit only. He’s done how many SpecE30 races? Besides, Macon has all the charm of fungus.
No offense to those of you with Athlete’s foot.

don’t get lako started talking about feet, he’ll never shut up

Thats it…no more pedicures for Tower or his girlfriend Levine trackside…I dont care how many drinks you give me.
I am very pleased to announce the Ludo Byle, our token French guy, bought a (sort of) SpecE30 yesterday. He bought a car and 24’? enclosed trailer from a guy in NC or VA and drove AlK’s Excursion yesterday to go fetch it. But ~4hrs out of town the Excursion’s cat plugged up, overheated and bogged down the truck pretty badly. The indication of trouble was, oddly enough, beer bottles exploding in the rear. There was a 6pack sitting in the back of the truck just above the cat and the bottles got so hot that they blew their tops sending beer everywhere. Not so bad in a pickup, but this was Al’s SUV.
Hopefully I have the details of the story right.
Ludo found a shop and they drilled some holes in the plugged cat in order to allow some exhaust gases to flow. That allowed the truck to limp along, but that was about it. Frankly, IMO it’s a wonder that the red hot cat didn’t burn the truck to the ground.
Ludo called Al and told him what was going on. Al drove to Rich’s house, probably 45min away, borrowed Rich’s truck, and headed North to help Ludo. Once they linked up, they put the trailer on to Rich’s truck and the two trucks got home last night deep into the AM.
Ludo brought the car over to my place today and we’re trying to see if we can get the engine running or if “Rich and Scott’s engine carnival” has to put something together for him.
Ludo still needs a truck tho, so that’s next on the list.
Ludo has some work to do on his car. It has the wrong exhaust, all the AC system is intact, and he could use a foot bar on his cage. Ludo, does the cage have a kneebar? If not, add that to the list.
Ludo will probably do a DE or two with us and then talk his way into comp school. He has a lot of track day experience in France, and actually puts on events for enthusiasts. No racing experience tho, IIRC.
For a short time we will have 4 Savannah based SpecE30 guys. Dang, that is awesome as shit. Sadly Rich may soon end up doing his part exercising our nation’s foreign policy in unspecified godforsaken 3rd world countries. That would put us back to 3 SpecE30 types…still pretty darn good by any measure.
question is, can Ludo cook? Just had lunch at Rue Clar…French cooking is tres bon!

For the cooking thing I must swallow my envy and report that Ludo has in tow a hot Brazilian GF.
And we don’t.
Man that’s a detailed account of the journey, my boss thanks you for that, saving me time  I wonder how badly is the smell of beer this morning in Al’s truck; I cleaned carpets with some feebreeze but I am not sur it’s going to be enough, I was almost feeling sick because of the smeell when I got home around 1 am (or was it because I forgot to eat anything from 6.30 am to 1am)…
I also have to extend a few thank you already, so in chronological order that would be you for finding the for sale ad on truck and trailer, then Mark for being a great saler to deal with (between commitment to purchase and pick up almost one month went by), Al for loaning me his excusion when rental agency didnt want to and then driving up to save the day when things got sour, Rich for providing the back up truck (which I was seriously thinking of never returning, would he have noticed?!), so thank you guys!
Now as Scott said, a few things to do to be able to hit the track and then a few more to bring it to spec E30 rules, but nothing major.
Regarding the cage, no feet bar or knee bar, so definitely to be added. I might come trolling around RA next weekend to snap pics of everyone’s car and get some ideas.
Alonzo, I am bad at cooking sorry, I just find it too boring. As Scott mentionned gf can cook pretty good and provide cachaca supply, which along with lemon and sugar is perfect dinner on it’s own
So this evening off to Scott’s garage extension (Harbor Freight) to pick up a couple of dollies to move the noble on one side of the garage so I can get the E30 out of the trailer and start working on it.
