Unfortunately, I will not have footage from Sunday because my camera ate the tape. That’s pretty disappointing because it was a great race and I wanted another look at it all. Still, this race is pretty good and there’s footage of "the incident" at the end.

I’m working on uploading it elsewhere to get a hi-res version for you guys, but I don’t know how soon that will be ready.

Mike, that is a heck of a good video. Thanks for posting it. Man does it suck having to go back to work.

Great Job! You were driving the $hit out of that car. The new motor seems to work well.

What was that White car? Accord? When I first saw it I thought it was a Taurus!

I noticed he was quicker in a few spots. Were you planing to draft behind him for a lap or two?

Tough break on the tranny Kelly. I must say though, the vid of all those guys going around you was pretty cool from my bench racing perspective.

Thanks guys! Still bummed Sunday’s tape didn’t come out.

Yeah, it’s an Accord. We were running pretty similar lap times, but after I got around him I couldn’t really catch up with the Integra or Herrington. I figured I’d let him back through and see if we could get back up there as it was pretty much my only option. He had obviously out-qualified me, so he should be able to run faster in theory.

Man, great video and VERY nice work out there. Sorry about the incident, that is unfortunate. Is there much body damage to the car?

Not much, other than the front spoiler that I ran over. I can probably fix it though.

Want to have some fun?

I just took Jason’s (yellow miata) video
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6569285028139580538&hl=en
and played it side by side on a split screen with Mike’s video above. It is really cool.

The first 4-5 minutes the Miata was ahead of Mike and you can clearly see Mike hounding him in his mirror. Then when Mike gets by he does a far superior job slicing through traffic (it took the Miata guy a full two laps to get by the 944s that Mike smoked in two turns). Then it is amazing to see how far the leaders check out.

Then of course Mike meets his fate with the Honda and the Miata goes by the huge dust clowd to finish quite well.

Really cool to watch how a race develops.

another good video and another tough break.

It seemed like you were having some issues with your center net.

With my right side net in the mail I can’t help but ask, if there’s any things you’d do differntly with how you’ve mounted yours?

Yeah, I had a piece of velcro that was holding the release strap, but it came off and was dangling by the shifter. I was just trying to wedge it into the net to keep it out of the way for the rest of the race.

It’s usually fine, except it can be in the way if you’re trying to get your hand out in the middle of the car to signal someone behind.

Scott,

The net you ordered won’t have a dangling strap, its a loop.
