Chuck “not the sneaker” Taylor???
RRR oportunity
How about Chuck ‘100 footer’ Taylor?
If you get any closer than that, my car looks like Jones’!
Ok, here’s the participant list. I’m committing. I’m in and I’ll pay tomorrow. Once I figure out how.
Scott “It’s the oil pressure” Gress
Robert “I don’t type, I edit” Patton
Laura “Dimples” Patton
Dr. Fred “I’m not a Pshrink” Switzer
Kelly “it was the drivetrain” Childress
Bill “Packin” Zawrotny
Jim “Sunshine” Robinson
Chuck Taylor.
I couldn’t come up with a nickname for Chuck. I know of no Chuck quirks nor drama to exploit.
I’m leaning towards going (65%)
Scott, move it up to 100%!
It is looking more likely…Close to time to let the rest of the community know, but I’ll wait until the official notice comes from C. Taylor.
How about the Skeen father and son duo?
Skeen at RRR would bring out the competition. How 'bout it Mike?
Great fun weekend.
Regards, Robert Patton
I’m so in!!! This excited me greatly!!! I’ll even pay for it out of my own pocket (see Dad, I’m not always a moocher).
If everyone is interested I can throw together a low country boil for that Saturday or Friday night. I’ll figure out the cost, but it’s only like $5-$8 a person and I’ll make tons of food and pie. Just let me know!
Gang, the event is a “go” if we can get the numbers. (Min 10 racers) I’m going to start a new thread in the General section, and if any of the MA or FL racers want to join in, all the better. Also going to try and get some of our Lightning group friends to join in, so hopefully the hurdle of 10 cars will be pretty easy.
Before I go, however, Laura the VDCA guys are putting on a spread Saturday night. Beer and Food are the details I have so far, but doing the Low Country affair on Friday would be a gas!
Chuck, is Gress correct that there is some run time on Friday?
Practise, friends at the track and then Laura’s food…don’t get no better than that.
RP
I called VDCA and to best of his knowledge, there is no Friday at the track. This is normally organized by RRR/SCCA Buccaneer Region directly (i.e. not VDCA) but since SCCA backed out of the event there is likely no test day either.
If anyone wants a better answer they are welcome to contact the track directly but VDCA is not pursuing this.
Okay, practise is a waste on this old dog. Meet Friday in the 1st turn paddock area for some dinner.
Thanks for checking, RP
Yea… thanks, Chuck.
Robert, I’m up to 73%
Would our cost be $250 + $50 membership fee?
What about class/run group… what to we put for that?
I want answers!
Sorry, no enduro. Cost is $250, which includes temporary VDCA membership. No need to spend the extra $50.
Entry includes one crew member (friend, SO) at no cost; additional crew is $25/ea. Crew members under 12 years are free. Crew members should be listed on the entry form.
I assume the crew cost has more to to do with the Sat nite food thing than anything else.
Class: SpecE30 of course!
By the way, don’t use the entry form on the VDCA site. They are putting up a separate form specific to the Lightning race, which will make a bit more sense. Should be up today. I’ll post a link to it on SpecE30.com and nasaforum.com when available.
Cleared it with the wife, barring force majeure I’ll be there.
Jim, she should come with you. Roebling is the one place my wife will go with me; she doesn’t care for racing, but loves browsing through Savannah, as it’s such a cool place.
The ‘flyer’ and entry forms are up.

Please get those checks in the mail to VDCA to confirm the event.
