rotating the oil filter mount

I saw this post on the CR list (“Ryan” had a blown motor).
Has anyone here rotated their oil filter like this? Seems like a good thing to do if everything (oil cooler lines, etc) lines up ok.

oil filter housing 180 degrees so the butt end of the filter points directly
towards the front of the car. This gets the filter totally clear of the

My filter is at 4 o’clock, makes oil changes easier and cleaner.
