Roll Cage Inspection Holes

#1

SCCA only required one in the main hoop last time I had a cage stamped. NASA’s rule book states there should be a hole in all the required bars…that’s a lot of holes. Can anyone clarify what the Mid-Atlantic tech inspectors are looking for?

take a cordless drill/bit with you the first time you have it inspected. Takes seconds.

My tech inspector required a small hole (3/16"?) in the main hoop, one forward bar (from the hoop), and one rearward bar. I was able to drill them all from the passenger door in about 2 minutes with him standing there.

When’s the best time during the weekend to bring a new car in for a log book?

Any time really, just let them know you need a logbook issued.
