Roebling Road Field

#1

Sure i could check the NASA web site…but it doesn’t talk back.
Who will be at Roebling?
Who is fixing broken cars?
Stories, updates?

I’ll be there. Laura will be there.

Others?

Regards, RP

Deb and I are trying to make it. We’re just a little worried about a 4.5 hour tow with the baby. We’ll figure it out in the next few days.

Is Laura’s car ok?

#3

I will be there doing HPDE, but I sure hope there is a big field. I love watching you guys race, and I look forward to hopefully getting to park with you guys this time.

#4

Not going to make this one… it’s a long drive from here and there’s no way I can afford to do every race this year so I’ll have to pick and choose my battles. Jones will represent me in spirit.

#5

Wouldn’t miss it, I’m there.

#6

I’m hoping to be there for another DE. Get ready for bunch more questions!

Andy

#7

John Anthony and I will be there in HPDE1. We are parking with the Spece30 crowd.

#8

Yeah I saw the HPDE1 field. We are gonna dominate that session, haha.

#9

I’m out. Still haven’t fixed my rocker arm and I am working 70 hours/week.

Lako and I are both signed up to race. Also a friend of mine, Olivier Damagnez, just bought the 114 car and will be in DE 1 and if I can finish the newest project car in time, my wife will be driving it in DE 2. Its another Calypso Red car, Watch out Bill Z !

If you bring the car, a rocker, head gasket and new headbolts, we’ll help you replace the rocker. With two folks working we can pull the head with the manifolds still on. That makes the job go pretty quick. 2hrs Friday afternoon.

#13

Signed up and pumped up! lets get a good field together at Roebling.

The guy who doesn’t have a Spec E30 is talking smack about the guy who does? That’s rich!

PS - I am out. I will be prepping for the 2010 Jersey Smackdown Tour.

Hey Steve, how do you know I don’t have one yet?
Also, can’t you use compressed air to hold the valves up while changing the rocker arms?

I figure that if Bill decides to replace the rocker arm, he needs to be prepared to remove the head. If the BillZ assistance committee decides that we can replace the rocker by getting a rocker arm shaft out, cool. I was in the mode of “Hope for the best, plan for the worst.”

I would love to be part of the head pulling operation, but I agree that there should be no need to pull the head as long as someone has an air compressor and the proper spark plug hole attachment.

What are you guys talking about re: pressuring cylinders to keep valves from falling??

He’s replacing a rocker, not a valve keeper. Valves won’t be going anywhere and don’t need pressure to keep them in place.

The key question on degree of difficulty is which cylinder. 6 or 5 is easier than 1 or 2, but the work is the same, just more or less of it, depending.

Agreed. What are you guys going to do with the air compressor?
