Roebling - April 14-15

#1

Just signed up, looking forward to my trip to Roebling. Also planning on doing the IFU.

#2

Gress guestroom is available. Isn’t exactly a sanctuary of peace and quiet, but the beer fridge is always stocked, the boys won’t bother you after you beat them, and the price is right. We’re 30min from RR.

#3

Thanks Ranger! A friend is bringing his car up to TT and I think we’re splitting the hotel room. I appreciate it though!

#4

A stay at the Gress guestroom sounds like an interesting time. I think I have one or two buddies coming with me to DE so we will probably share a hotel room. The entrants list still looks a little short. Is there any more info on the IFU yet?

#5

Info on IFU? Yeah, unfortunately, with the low signup count so far, we’ve decided to postpone IFU-6, and plan to do it later in the year.

Personally, I’m really puzzled at the low count for RRR; I know we don’t get there as often as we used to, but personally, I love it, and think it’s the best track that we race on in the Southeast. Think of IFUs past with car counts in high teens to 30,and a 10-car field (yes, 2 guys just signed up) just wouldn’t be the same.

#6

I just registered.

#7

I agree Chuck. I have made the single Roebling event each year, and I really like the track. Any chance of the IFU at Road Atlanta instead of CMP?

Lol, that’s crazy talk. Just you wait until you do lap after lap in a pack of 30 crazed maniacs with an average spacing of 20". The fact that there’s lots of grass on either side to head for if required will suddenly be a big comfort.

#10

Looks like that is never gonna happen as I don’t plan to head back to CMP anytime soon. :frowning:

#11

Seat-Time is hosting an event at Roebling tomorrow and Sat. There are currently no students signed up so it will likely be “open track” all day or something close to it. That’s a helova lot of track time for the dollar.

#12

Hoping I can make it out next weekend for HPDE4 and get to meet some of you guys. It will be my first time out in the new (to me) SE30.

#13

I’ll be there

#14

I would definitely be at RRR, but two issues: a friend’s daughter scheduled her wedding for the afternoon of the 14th in ATL, without a prior consultation with me about the racing schedule. Totally inconsiderate. Attendance by me is mandatory.
2nd excuse is the weak motor issue that remains unresolved. RRR is a great track for the SE30 and everyone should try to be there!
My plans are to be at RA in May.

#15

Wow, here is the entry list by class for Lightning:

Count Class
1 944 Spec
4 GTS1
2 GTS2
4 Honda Chal 1
2 Honda Chal 2
1 PTB
1 Spec Miata
14 SpecE30
1 STR2
9 ThunderRoadster

39 Grand Total

Who was supposed to be watching the ThunderRoadsters? They seem to have been off making babies since the last event!

#16

I have no explanation for the population explosion. None of them showed up for the LoveFest!!! The Miata drivers had to take things into our own hands.

#17

Thats gross. No more lovefest for me. See you all at Roebling.

#18

Anyone coming to Roebling have a camera mount I can borrow for the weekend? I mean something like an I/O Port that I can put on the horiz cage bar. I think I went a little bezerk selling parts in Dec/Jan and might have sold one too many I/O Port mounts. It’ll take me a couple weeks to find a good deal on a replacement.

#19

What size camera do you have? If it’s a smaller one, I have one of these you can borrow:

It’s pretty strong, and for most pocket digitals or bullet cameras, is perfect. Let me know and I’ll toss it in the trailer.

Yes, pls bring it. I don’t know if it will work because it isn’t all that adjustable, but it’s a helova lot better than anything I currently own.

I feel like such a dumbass for getting carried away and not recognizing that I needed to hang on to that third IO Port mount I sold.
