Yo Jim, you’ve been called-out by a GIRL.
Gotta be there to answer that challenge.

Wow I love it :woohoo: . I haven’t given up on Roebling yet. It may not be pretty though.
Don’t worry about pretty. Pretty doesn’t matter (as evident by my front valence hanging by lots and lots of duck tape). Just bring your A game and come on out!
Awesome weekend and finally one with no significant issues! Steve was hit going into 12 which pointed him quickly towards the flag stand but he recovered it nicely. Oh and another trailer blow out on 285.
I finally found the source of the rear end knock and repaired it just in time to load up for the weekend. Everything seemed to click this weekend. The car ran great and, except for Sundays qualifying race when I stupidly put on full tread 888’s, handled beautifully. (I think hitting the wall at Road Atlanta AND Barber is the speed secret everyone needs for setting up their cars)
Saturday Johann and Patton got an early jump with Moses and I close behind. Damion and I tried to work together to catch them which seemed to be working until I caught the apex into 4 which launched (literally all 4 in the air) the car into the grass, bounced (again all 4 in the air) and some how was still pointed straight enough to get it right back on. I didn’t loose position but Damion was gone and Bill Z was right on my A$$ for the rest of the race. I should have video and maybe a couple of pics up later.
The reception/beer party was fun as usual and after several probably to many, we set up Foreza II and projected it Theater size on the side of the James Roberts trailer with surround sound. Now that I know we can pull it off, as Steve suggested, you guys will have to join us for Beer Night Racing at the next event. I guarantee hitting the Road Atlanta’s walls that way are far less expensive!
Sunday I thought I may be able to get a little more stick and put on some fresh tires. Unfortunately I didn’t think about them being full depth. Got a good start and moved into 3rd but was quickly repassed by one then another and another until finishing 9th. Man it was like driving a completely different car. We switched back to my “old” tires during lunch and had an absolute blast coming back through the field for the afternoon race.
Robert and I had a great run on the last lap and luckily, really kinda unexpectedly, was able to make the pass for 3rd through 10a just before the checker. Can’t wait till the next event!
David, I wasn’t going to give the inside line. You made the outside work. The ole swith-back didn’t work…scrubbed too much speed. Fun move. I’ll get you at the next one. Your driving was good to close the gap. A top three with this group is a good deal.
You tried the full 888s in the quali race=junk.
I tried the 5/32 RA1s in the same race=junk.
I,too, change back to the almost corded 888s for the PM race.

After a successful Friday competition school I awoke Saturday morning ready to go play with the big boys. Dad went out in the first session and felt something weird. We had switched tires that morning and the previous day I felt something but thought it was either stuff on the marble or a slight flat spot from the day. It turned out that our LR wheel bearing had destroyed itself. So after some talking we went to Strictly German to get another control arm with a “better” bearing. We had never changed a control arm but with help and advice from Chuck, Jim, and Eric we somehow managed to changed the arm out in time for the Saturday race (Thanks guys). So my first ever racing session would be a race and I will admit I was nervous, until about turn 5 on the first lap. Then I was too busy concentrating on what was going around me that the nervousness went away. The race was a blast as I started last and worked my way up to 12th. I had a great time racing, Scott, Fred, Jim, and Steve. It was too much fun. Sunday I started right behind Chuck and we had a good race going on until I botched it in turn 1. I was letting an E36 and a 944 to my inside of 1 and saw Laura start to go sideways as people moved over. I just ran out of track and went right over the curbing at 1, rookie mistake . After avoiding the wall and creating a billow of GA clay, I turned the car around, checked that the gauges said everything was okay. I picked up two spots before race end. After the race I was talking to everyone and when I went back to the car I saw oil leaking from it. Shite! Turns out as I was dukes of hazarding over the turn 1 curb, I put a hole through the skid plate perfectly on the drain plug causing the hole to form more of an oval shape and causing a crack. It wasn’t until the car cooled off that the oil came out. With not enough time left, we decided to patch up the car enough to put it on the trailer and call it a weekend. All in all, I had a blast and had some good races with people. It was great to meet everyone and will definitely be there for CMP and maybe RRR.
