So, what’s up with attendance to this event?! it’s Rd ATL people c’mon! Father’s day and all, bring La Familia!!!
Road Atlanta June Jam
I wish i could be there. New job means Bitsy is being neglected again… Looks like my next time on track will be December
Boys and girls, note that the parking map has us on the far side of the pro-pits. Lets try to keep us all together. http://www.nasa-se.com/i/paddocks/RoadAtlanta.jpg
Hey, the 218 came back from getting caged at Kirk today. Looks great. Drivetrain already in, but the entire basement floor is littered with stuff that needs to be installed or reinstalled, as the case may be.
Coming up tomorrow to pick up some parts and watch you goobers hash it out in the Lightning race. Put on great show for me!
Ranger Scott…you are really falling down on the job of keeping us updated…correct please!
Hopefully some of my video will turn out so I can remember the details. Sat’s race was cut short by double yellows and ultimately black flagged. Sunday had a red flag. It was still a helova lot of fun tho. There was all sorts of excitement and razor close racing.
It was my most fun race weekend this year.

Well Duh I was there… Don’t worry I got video.
It was great to see all my old track friends and meet all the new faces. I’ll write up a recap tomorrow…
The funnest race ever on Sunday!! I was having so much fun, it was hard to concentrate… so I didn’t! hahaha
Here’s video from Sunday’s race after re-start
Sundays Race, I started 5th and was a high as 3rd. After my incident with David, I dropped to 5th and finished there after holding off some fast cars behind me.
Had a great time this weekend! Enduro was a blast and my first real Spec E30 day on Saturday was totally intense. Sunday sucked, but that’s racing! Thanks for not banging me up too bad guys and gal!
Sunday Highlight video:
Good close racing with Scott just after the restart, and some crazy stuff.
I spent the second half of the race just lapping by myself.
Good racing again this weekend. Sad to see so many cars torn up but it looks like it was just a product of close racing and all cars look fixable.
I messed around with an extra camera and put in a foot cam for Sunday’s race.
Craziest lap though had to be the last lap before the yellow with Julio and Walsh. A thunder roadster started dropping oil and I hit it going into 10a went sideways through 10b, came out on the other side and still had some what of a lead with Sandro coming fast. Put together a solid half lap until I went into 5 at full bore and at turn in I realized there was oil here as well. Launched the car over the gravel and 5 which put Sandro and I side by side into 6 and 7. I got the edge at 7 and that is when we came up on the accident. That was a tense lap but kind of reminded me of the NASCAR race at Watkins where they were running through the oil for a lap to the finish. Will try to get up a video of that one lap.
On another note I am so impressed with the integrity of these cars after Julio’s hit at topspeed into the wall. The safety equipment did it’s job and so did the cage. Even with enough force to move a concrete wall 4 inches the cage never caved in. With the amount of crumple in the rear it was amazing to see it all compress. I happen to have a spare tire in the truck so the question came up as to whether there would be more damage or less damage with the spare tire?
Thanks again to all who help clean up the 190 and get it rolling into the trailer!

Nice Jump!
Thanks to Danny, Michael, Greg M, Group 3 (porta-power tool loan) and everyone that helped us get the car rolling. What a great group to race and hang out with.
Hopefully Danny can re-work his magic as he did with the 911 and I can return soon.
Julio
Not that anyone wants to watch Saturday’s race from the back of the field, but here it is. My rooking race as a Spec E30 driver. If you actually watch it more than a couple seconds, you will see a very similar Dukes of Hazard jump in turn 5 as Eric’s. Also have a shot of Laura’s off track at 5 if you look close.
I wanted to see it because you had a good view of the back of my car for a few laps… That was a nice save in 5, I know I’ve done that before and it is a scary few seconds. It is good to see from your point of view that old #12 has its nuts back down the straights.
I’d say you had a good rookie weekend, only thing I think you did that could of been messy was make it 3 wide going into 3 with Ranger and I on Sunday. Luckily it worked out but that could of banged up 3 cars.
Anyone have issues with the Porsche Boxters? They were quick in the straights but seemed, ah, anxious, in the turns.
