Hell, I’m so slow that I’ll probably still be doing the 3 hour enduro after about 4 hours. You might get your chance after all.

PS - Fred - A PhD holding a fire bottle? That is comedy gold. I’ll take you up on it.

Things have been kinda slow lately so I decided to do another engine swap.

I was at RA on Monday. That gave me both RA and CMP data on New #6. After spending some hours trying to compare hp data as rigorously as I could, I decided that I’m 10-15hp low. I’ve an MM bottom end, an MM bottom end with a bent crank, a Chuck Baader bottom end, and one cherry head. Only the Chuck engine is .020 over so I think I’ll mate it up with the cherry head and install that.

Tonight I disconnected everything. Tomorrow night the motor will come out.

Uh-oh.

I didn’t say I knew how to use it… (What’s this pin thing for?)

Ill be coming in Thursday. Taking comp school and potentially racing sat sun. Look forward to seeing you all there.

#26

After many months MIA, I’ll be at RA. Just registered and loaded the car in the trailer. The fresh head is installed (correctly at last), sticker tires, some touch-up paint, and a bucket of pent-up racing mojo. Color me ready! Looking forward to seeing the gang again. Cheers!

Any chance the Panther will be put back together by then? Maybe if Pissant does the work, I think Jim is preoccupied with his new aircraft![/quote]

Yes the panther is very close to being done. The engine is pretty much sitting in the car. It is going quicker yes because my dad is working on his new found plane. Although, the bad part about that is when i need him, he is not there and i have to wait. But the panther should be there and working out all the kinks friday, if there are any…

#28

I’ll be around on Friday and can help wrench. What work is left?

#29

Very close??? I thought you would be doing laps around the yard by now.

#30

Connect the subframe to the body, attach the steering, put the radiator in, make sure all the wiring is hooked up, apply fluids, and start her up enough to put her in the trailer. I have been posting pictures of the progress on facebook, if u wanted to go look at them.

Pissant, what is facespace (facebook)?

RP

Does it run yet or did the old man spend too much time last night at the crazy horse beer place?

As an unbiased observer I can tell you the old man did spend too much time there but he was the designated [strike]drinker[/strike] driver, so all is good.

#33

FYI, Scott G turned 50 today so be sure to wish the old geezer happy birthday this weekend.

#34

If I can make it thru the engine swap from hell I’ll be rolling in about 10PM. Fun starts at 10, so don’t be back in your hotel room watching reruns.

#35

The CFO will be in HPDE1 so I am throwing myself at the mercy of you guys. Can I camp with you so she can experience the future now?

Of course you’re welcome to hang with us.

Pissant and I did 2 hours of intense “testing” at RA last night. Hopefully they’re able to rebuild the track for this weekend…

Gotta love iRacing. I can normally only make it about 3 laps before crashing at Lime Rock and having iRacing build me a new car at the press of a button.

#40

Now if we can only keep it at one lap FCY, and nothing else…
How about we inform the racers that these are the prelims for the Toy Race?
