Guys,
Given the new mid-season ruling on having to have an internal right-side harness, has anyone found a good price on the various models?
Thanks…

I remember JP finding a good source…Ill see if I can get it from him unless he sees this first.

Or you could spend $25 more and get it from HMS. . .
This is the nicest one I’ve found and has a quick release as per the rules.

Based upon JP’s recommendation, I bought the BSR right side net. I’m very impressed with it; it’s large and has plenty of extra webbing to reach where it needs to connect. The quick release works great, too.
When I looked at the Simpson on-line, it seemed a little small to me. My understanding is that it’s imperative to catch both your head and your shoulder. The Simpson looked so small that it would just stop your head (not good).

I haven’t seen the new NASA rule but does anyone know how it should be mounted? The rear mount will be easy but the front…

I was assuming that if you had a leg bar you would mount it to that. If you don’t then I would guess that you would have to go behind the dash somewhere? I’d like to know as we are planning to put one in both cars.

the rule doesn’t stipulate how it is mounted, just that it needs a quick release.
I have heard of people going through the dash to the firewall or a cross dash bar. Also heard of putting a cable from the above windshield bar to the tranny tunnel and then attaching to that.
You can also satisfy the new rule by having a seat with large side bolsters.
cheers,

Chris Schimmel showed me his set-up, so while he had my dash out, he welded a plate and eye-bolt at the bottom of the windshield that comes up through the dash. It’s not pretty, but it works.
