rear wheel bearing replacement

#1

since it looks like my LR bearing is on its way out i might as well order the parts needed to replace it. is this list complete?

and if anyone has the special tool(s) needed to extract and install the bearing itself i’d love to borrow them for a few days

Looks like the right list. We borrowed the bearing extractor kit from a local BMW mechanic. You might check with AutoZone on their free tool loan program. I believe they have it.

I don’t know why you’d say that. With the Sir Tools kit it is maybe an hour of work per side with the car on a lift or jackstands.

That is all the parts you’ll need, but I advise replacing the bearing on both sides.

if it all goes well I suppose. i had to hammer the hell out of bearing to free it loose from the hub even with the puller on. was hard enough with the car up on a lift, i couldn’t imagine doing it with less room on jack stands.
