Rear View Mirror

#1

As I gather up parts and make my budget/wish list, I’m wondering about rear view mirrors. Anyone have any opinions about a mult-panel mirror, such as the Wink sold by Bimmerworld, vs. the wide-angle type, such as the Longacre sold by OG Racing?

Thanks,
Sasha

Never used the wide angle mirrors.

Absolutely love the wink mirror. Stays where I put it. No issues on distance or perspective.

used hose clamps to mount l-brackets to cage.

Visible from one side window to the other, except for my fat head and other hard parts.

I’ve run both. I tried the longacre on my new car, and I’ve gotten used to it, and now I like it better than the wink - but it’s more a matter of personal preference.

I bought one of the Longacres but had to return it because there wasn’t enough space between my halo bar and the roof to fit the really nice machined brackets that it comes with.

I ended up with a cheapo IOPort racing curved mirror that worked ok until last Saturday when one of my codrivers busted it off during the EMRA enduro. It wasn’t very sturdy but considering show little it cost ($19?) I could replace it every season if I wanted to.

However, I think I’m going to replace it with a Wink. Our regular enduro car has a Wink and I think I like it just a tad better than the curved mirror. The only problem with a curved mirror is that it is hard to judge distance in it.
