Rear subframe mounts

#1

I have good experience with IE mounts. Anybody use solid mounts?

I’m using the Bimmerworld solid mounts. I only got 100 track miles on the car so far, but they seem to work well. If you decide to go that route, you will need a shop press to get them in and once they are in, they are never coming out.

I’m told that they are good on smooth surfaces, but if the tracks are bumpy the urethane mounts are better. Any experience?

I bought delrin mounts for the subframe and poly for the diff and trail arm mounts. I bought them from AKG motorsports. http://www.akgmotorsport.com/home.html

I got the trailing arm mounts, sways and shock mounts from Ireland.

The suspensions on these cars in my experience are very supple. They work great over the bumps.

Make the rear diff and subframe mounts as stiff as possible to reduce rear steer from flex and movement. This will allow a finer tuning of the alignment for better stability in the corners. You basically make the suspension do the work and not the bushings.

We’ve got the price down on the aluminum now so it’s close to the price of our race urethane. There’s really no reason to not run them on a full race car.

The only draw backs are you really do need a press to install them, and they are very difficult to remove. They are kinda a one time deal.
