Rear shock cover and bump stop?

my rear bilsteins didn’t come with a cover for the rod area or a bump stop like the stock shocks - are they necessary?

you can reuse your old ‘covers’ if you still have them. Rod does get swept clean when compressed although I personally would put ‘covers’ on just to keep grime out of it.
I can’t figure out what part are you referring to as a ‘bump stop’ - perhaps it’s too late and my brain is …

there is a donut like piece about 1/4" thick under the washer under the RSM that I’m calling a bump stop.
