Rear Camber/Toe Adjustment

#21

Took a starter wrench and ground the sides down to fit into the adjustment bolt head…the old guys will know what a starter wrench is. CB

I’ve used a 3/4" flare wrench on the RTABs with decent results.

As far as camber angles, 3 deg is a good place to start. We will probably run more camber this year since the RA1 has a softer sidewall, but there’s really no substitute for tire temps to tell you what angle to run.

I don’t know what diff Chuck runs in his ITA car, but with our stock LSD it seems like the ideal camber on the inside rear (like right rear at Road Atlanta) is a balance between having enough for good handling on left turns (more camber for turns 4 and 5=good) and having good traction through rights (less camber to keep from lighting up the inside half of the tire in 7).

A loose RTAB bolt creates some interesting ‘dynamic toe’ changes, but at least I didn’t have any understeer that weekend at CMP.

Is 19 and 21mm the correct size for RATB’s?

I can’t remeber what size my alignemnt guy uses. We had to give up on adjusting the toe because of getting to the bolts, but this wrench looks like it would definetly help!

19, IIRC. Don’t be fooled by that photo of the 19/21 wrench. I just grabbed that one off the interwebs to show the shape of the wrench.
