Random wire?

#1

We’ve got a harness near the e-brake that was attached to something but is now loose in the car and can’t find it in the Bentley.

It’s got 3 wires in it.
Solid Blue
Grey/Red
Brown/White

All but the blue were cut back, but it looks like the blue might be been attached to something. We were thinking maybe some type of e-brake switch but don’t see any type of switch on the e-brake.

Car was a auto that was converted to a manual if that makes a difference.

Ideas?

Quick guess would be the Park/Neutral starter cutout switch, since the auto shift mechanism would have had some type of electrical connector. 3 wires sounds about right, but it’s been years since I had reason to deal with one.

Are you having problems or just curious/worried that you’ve snipped something important?

What about the light that lights up P,R,N,D,2,1 on the shifter? I think all the bulbs are blue wires.

Jeremy and I originally thought it had something to do with the illumination for the “P,R,N,D,2,1” panel. However, the Park/Neutral starter cutout switch might bit it as well. It’s not causing any issues. We just found it odd that the blue wire was left exposed by the previous owner. I posted about this in the General Discussion forum. Here’s the other thread:

I think it’s safe to just tape this off and tuck it in with the other center console wires. Thanks for the posts!
