Race Weekend Weather

#1

Good Day Fellow Racers,

Just checked with the weather gods and again Saturday looks iffy, mostly cloudy with rain showers in the morning and then again in the afternoon. Friday and Sunday look to be cloudy with some sun, temps near 70 and breezy all weekend.

Updates to follow!

We have gone from chance to rain, up to 1" over the period and warm to cool, now is’t about timing.

MODELS BEGIN TO DIVERGE NEXT WEEKEND. BOTH THE GFS AND ECMWF DROP AN
UPPER LOW OUT OF ALASKA INTO THE GULF OF ALASKA OVER THE WEEKEND. THE
MAIN DIFFERENCE IS THE TIMING…WITH THE GFS BRINGING RAIN TO THE
DISTRICT ON SAT AND THE ECMWF ANYWHERE FROM 12 TO 24 HRS SLOWER.
THEREFORE…WITH THE TIMING UNCERTAINTY HAVE KEPT MAINLY CHANCE POPS
FOR THE WEEKEND. THIS SYSTEM LOOKS TO BE QUITE COLD…WITH THE MODELS
BRINGING 850 MB TEMPS AS COLD AS -4C TO THE DISTRICT.

Thanks for the weather update! So with the chance of rain we can expect are you suggesting full tread or shaved 888’s for this weekend?

I’m personally doing a rain dance.

If the reports hold up it looks like rain/showers to start around 2pm or later on Saturday and could blow through by Sunday morning. The two models disagree so their still might be a shower Sunday morning.

Expect ¼ to ¾ inches over the period.

As far as recommending full tread or shaved, have both, it will support the economy!

I think it’ll be a while before the heavy stuff comes down…
