CHUCK TAYLOR IS A GREAT GUY!!
Let me say that again: CHUCK TAYLOR IS A GREAT GUY!!
Chuck saved my Sunday race by leading the replacement of the clutch master cylinder between quals and race (< 2.5 hours). Fortunately I had the spare, but Chuck volunteered to lead the work, spend 1+ hours on his back, head down amidst the clutch and brake pedals. He’d done this repair before and said it was too tricky for a newbie. Chuck finished with my car just in time to suit up and go racing. The clutch worked great for the race.

Wow…this is what happens in he SE30 group - good friends, volunteers, get everyone out on track, offer spare parts, bring possums, cranberries, etc…it’s cool.

Similar on Saturday: after getting too bold on the wet track in quals on Saturday, I spun at the exit of T7 and rammed the inside concrete wall. (This was my first visit to that wall, but I know others are very familiar with that territory.) Anyway, Scotty, Ranger, and Fred helped me hook the rear of the car to a tree with a big chain and we did a redneck field frame adjustment. All was well and I raced on.

Otherwise, a great time. A '62 Impala with live guitar player in the trunk and other fun Saturday night. Oh, and I drove/finished 2 races.

Another great weekend, the SE30 group is just getting better, is like being in a party and then a race breaks out.

I completely agree with Ranger’s post, all SE30 are great at being aware of cars around them, if you get squeezed, it’s on purpose, hahaha, JK T11. From my perspective, now matter how slow of fast you think you are, if you have that position, it’s yours and you should defend it, if you know the car behind you is faster, just give him a hard time, this is racing, just don’t do something stupid.

As far as my race goes, Saturday was pretty uneventful, TR did their usual thing, screw up the race and cut it away short. Jim, you should change the “supersize” option to “you know the TR are gonna screw up your race, so you better click this so you get enough track time” lol

Since I broke the serpentine belt during qualy and the car overheated, I had to start from 22nd place and use Jay Stoops can w/o his consent, haha. So I had to be a little careful, since I never raced his car before.

My weekend was a mixed bag. I do fairly well in wet conditions so I was really looking forward to that. I chose not to do the warmup on Saturday morning and I will not make that mistake again. I should of mounted up the rains and went out. I had decided that I should run slicks for Qual Saturday and that was a mistake as well. I qual’d 12 and ended up 8th I think in the race. I love the rain and slick conditions and missed out on capitalizing in Qual.

Saturday night was a blast and I have some vague recollection of a possum, and various other misadventure with other culprits of shenanigans. I had a blast!!

Sunday was still greasy at Qual and it was definitely slice. I had a “not so clean lap” and ended up 3rd. That my friend is some serious miracle type shit. I proceeded to set the universe straight in the race and drove like a jackass while getting hit by nearly everyone on track. I claim one as my fault. I had a blast and wouldn’t change anything. Enjoy my roller coaster ride.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/i_qGL8FA9LM[/quote] Unsolicited opinion: That hit by AR on the back straight at 3:55 in the video was ridiculous. I hope you email a link to this video to Pantas in addition to all SE30 penalty czars. Totally unacceptable behavior. His license should be pulled for that shit.

No, I don’t know him personally. Don’t know you either. I don’t have a dog in this fight but I am blessed with the impartiality to call bullshit without caring if I make enemies with one faction or the other.

If that move is acceptable by the current group of racers, it reinforces that retirement from racing was the right choice for me.

If I have a gripe I take it up in person, not on a forum. I consider AR a friend and if I chose I will mention it to him in person. I don’t know you and you don’t race so your opinion is great and I’m glad you shared it. If you want to come out and race let me know as I’m familiar with multiple companies that rent cars so that you can participate. Until that time you are, at best, an observer.

Never mind.

We are not a professional series for people just to butt in and have their opinions, we are just a group of friends that race together. I don’t know how it was in the past, but now we are a very tight group that can deal with it’s issues on it’s own w/o any help from outsiders. We have 2 leaders that have been awesome in keeping the peace and things rolling smooth. Also, we are cool enough with each other to talk things out. Jeff and AR talked about that incident, I personally talked to AR about that incident, and I’m sure it’s gonna get brought up at the next race, BUT we don’t take out the dirty laundry in public. Scott has addressed issues individually, which I love him for it. The forum is not the place for this kind of discussion, nor Facebook for that matter :stuck_out_tongue:

PS - this is not directed to anybody individually. I refuse to engage with assholes - Once was enough!

Positing video is inviting feedback but I like to think that “we” refers to the SE30 community rather than “Georgia SE30” or “Norcal SE30” or “Local SE30”. Nothing wrong in pointing out behavior that, as a group, we don’t want to see (just be sure to point out behavior you DO want to see once in awhile!)

“Constructive” Criticism is great

I thought I was going to get shit for pinching Lako in 12. That one I deserved.
