No Saturday footage but the video from Sunday is helacious. 18 total action packed minutes of knife fighting. It was a blast. https://vimeo.com/54799437[/quote]
Now with “sound” goodness.

Great video and running commentary.

That reminds me. The fake “waving yellow” at Start/Finish at the beginning of Lap 2 was a bad idea. That’s not the flag they should “cry wolf” with. Meatball, passing flag, debris, sure. Waving yellow means some $hit just went down and you should back off.

PS - Ranger - My move on you into 10B was only risky if I thought you WOULDN’T blink and make room. :woohoo:

The waving yellow was fake? Are you sure? If that’s the case, that’s a nogo. Fake the white, ok. But don’t fake a Yellow. So I guess the explains the meatball flag with no #? They pulled that out just as I went by S/F. I goddamn near pulled into the pits, but then decided…“I have cars all around me, the meatball is for me when I see my # or they clearly point it at me.”

Don’t think for a minute you got the pass from two back because I “blinked”. You got it because 1)I was paying attention and reading your mind, 2)you are my friend, and 3)I was trying to help you make it work. The next time you try to take an apex from 2 cars back I would encourage you to pause and ask yourself, “does that guy up there like me as much as Scott does?”

Not positive, but we came through while it was being waved furiously and I saw nothing on the front straight.

Awwww, shucks. You say the nicest things.

(…and I had enough braking left to tuck in behind you if I saw you claim the apex. I wouldn’t put myself in a position where I had to count on you taking evasive action. Not my style.)

Congratulations to Lako !! Thanks for the win and team congrats too. Robert, even without Damagnez (damen yea) I guess its always been 3, Scott, Lako, Walsh, or could it be a nod to “3” series BMW ? Three kids ? 3 girlfriends? The Trinity ? 3 seconds a lap?
It’s always a pleasure racing with you, both on track and on paper. Man what a down to the wire exciting race that was. Congrats on your season podium as well.

You and Laura have been instrumental in developing my driving skills (can I call it that really?) and Laura in particular in developing my race craft. I was schooled by her many times before I caught on. I’m sure many other people can say the same. Thanks for all you guys do to keep us on track (you’re the track parts Santa) and casually shaping us as drivers (If they are willing to listen carefully).

Thanks for an awesome battle Eric and Sandro. I love it when the racing is close, and its better still when you can trust the driver(s) beside you.

Great to see everyone this weekend, especially the new faces, I can’t wait to do it all again.

Video to follow

Eric, you’re keeping good company.

David thank you for the kind words. The SE now has a paddock full of race ambassadors and we continue to grow. Just look at how many folks Group 3 has influenced. Then there is Taylor, Gress, Fred, Palacios and now Sandro is bring a troup of folks to Spec e30

We’ll start a “next year” thread later, for now back to the topic, RA Results.

Sorry for the late point by in 10A. That was one of the craziest races I’ve been in. Half a lap later I had my hands full when I was trying to (a) get through Turn 4 and the esses two/three wide, (b) get Eric and Sandro through cleanly so y’all could continue your battle and © stay close enough to Roger to fight for the SM win…

Whew. What a race. Congrats!

PS - Put your shield down. I’d beat you easily if you only had one eye.

#31

Agree 100% I’ve even preached it myself after a face full of sand / debris.
The shield was fogging up, plus all my small brain could think about was where Sandro and Patton were. Still, no excuse.

Oh and Steve, I knew you would be fully aware of your surroundings so I wasn’t looking for a point by anyway. In fact, I think you may have even moved over a bit for us to come through. Great racing , we miss you being in an E30.

Just watched part of Rangers vid…jeezus. That standing start is crazy

What a great weekend of racing. Perfect weather at one of the best tracks in the country. Once again, I had a great time racing with you folks - you keep the fun in racing.

Some notes:
Congrats to Steve for the season win. Well done against strong talent and folks who put in a lot of laps. The e30 season trophy has a lot more cred that most other classes.

Once again, the e30 crowd amazed me with their generosity: In Saturday practice, my shifter linkage slipped a C clip. Immediately, in the paddock, Herrington offered to help, was under my car, put the pieces back together, and then let me install the new clip (donated by Ranger). In 30 minutes, the car was all set. Then, Scottie installs a clutch and transmission for Smith and Fred on Saturday - no problem. On Sunday, 30 minutes before race start, Stoops’ car won’t start. Ranger, Sandro, and Herrington immediately jump in to troubleshoot in 15 ways, doing everything possible to get him in the race (and disturbing their pre-race rituals) - but no luck. Does this happen in all regions? all race classes?

Ranger: great video from Sunday. The toy races are crazy!! Due to the IFU start, I was in most of the video, a few cars ahead;

The standing start was wild; I was next to 3 Thunder Roadsters and thought they would be fast out of the gate; wrong…So I was bottled-up between them and a slow Golf.

I learned about doing the Esses 2-wide on Sunday.

Overall, a fine weekend.

Thanks for the welcome Robert and fellow E30 racers. I look forward to finishing my next two races at CMP in Feb and getting my full license.
