Two races tomorrow…!

Laura 2nd Nice! I see Jim runs the sprints when the big guns don’t show. In the words of 80’s R&B stars from the movie House Party: “I smell PUSSY”

#3

Jim runs the sprints when he has a car (ie not Craig’s since he likes to use it) and when he is sure it will hold together.

CMP Feb. - no motor in the car (run Craig’s in enduro)
RA Mar. - motor in car, breaks after enduro and 1st sprint
CMP May - no motor in car (run Craig’s in enduro)
Barber May - ran enduro to make sure motor in car will work
RA June - triumphant return

If you guys didn’t want to come and get beat I can’t help that.:stuck_out_tongue:

As you may have seen in my Motor Swap thread, I’m home early. I had a great time and it was terrific seeing everyone again. Even if I had to be pulled off of the track twice.

Jim Robinson: “Scott, if I had luck as hard as yours, I’d say “F*** IT” and find a different hobby”.

lol. Do I need to quote Nietsche?

Devinney found out it was my birthday and ran out and got me a birthday cake. That was pretty damn cool.

Who drove your car today, Dave of James?

Well, apparently all of that wind tunnel testing paid off, nice “win” Indy Jim. I’m sure the boys back at McLaren will be happy to hear their work was successful.

Big Congrats to Laura! Putting the smack down. Nice work!!

Ranger-Happy Birthday!

#7

And to think I wore my beertech shirt at the podium, that hurts.

#8

I think R. Patton has this whole thing figured out… two 6th place “wins” in a row!

  • Great job Laura beating up on Dad!

Nice drive, champ! It was a classic E30 battle. I was a little better in some places (1 and 5), Jim was a little better in others (from 7 to 10a).

Congrats to Laura. She worked traffic better for sure. Jim and I got balked coming out of 5 and she was right there to take the inside line thru 6. I almost had her on the last lap, but in a move to make papa proud she made the car W-I-D-E on the front straight.

Congrats to Robert on a nice clock and congrats to all for a no-damage race on Saturday!

Today:

  1. Racer X
  2. Robert
  3. Laura
  4. Me
  5. Chuck

I have no idea after that…

#12

Who is racer X?

#13

From Wikipedia:

Racer X is a heroic, mysterious, flamboyant, selfless, sympathetic and often brooding soldier of fortune.

Doesn’t sound very mediocre to me! Sounds like should have HIS OWN flag and tent!

aka DTOM Racing

Fixed

Had a blast this weekend. My Saturday Qualifying didn’t go as planned because I could not find any open track to get a good lap. As a result I started the race in 11th position second to last. I got by Jim at the start and managed to reel in Switzer then the swarm hit. Every time I would get close to Switzer traffic would get between us and open up the gap once again. As things finally spread out I was able to get Fred in my cross hairs once again with just a couple laps to go. We came through 12 nose to tail when they through the white flag, and I decided to try an inside pass into one. I moved over in the braking zone but realized I would not be able to make that pass stick so I conceded the apex to Fred. Fred came hauling ass into one taking the apex then managed to get himself into one hell of a tank slapper. His car turned track right to the inside first and he caught it then he came right back across the track in front of me. I could either hit him or take to the grass, I chose the the grass. This allowed Jim to get by both of us, and Fred got back on track before I did so I was back to 11th where I finished. What a race though my car has its first battle scar from a Mata giving me the old chrome horn in 10b:ohmy:

Since our Sunday qualifying race was called off I started the race right back in second to last again. When the green flag flew the swarm of 944s was immediate. I just held on the first lap and lost my position putting me in last place. As traffic thinned I was able to get my spot back and had my sights set on Fred once again. I got a run on Fred coming out of 5 and was able to pick up another spot. A lap later I caught Jim on the back straight and I could hear his motor cutting out as I went by. A few laps went by and I was starting to close on Gropp. I finally closed the gap and we went about two laps nose to tail before I was able to slip past in turn one. I opened up a gap, which he quickly closed so I spent the last two laps just trying to keep him behind me which I was able to do. Finished 6th which I was happy with.

Great weekend guys hope to see you in Aug.

Greg

Having been clobbered by a Miata (at the same spot) a couple of laps earlier I was very glad you picked the grass option!! I’m not sure I really want to see the video…

It’s not that bad Fred. From the video you will see just how good a job you did saving your car from the inside wall

Congratulations to Jim Robinson!

Back to back wins in this series is tough to do. (I think I did it once back in 2004 when the field was only one racer.)

Jim, a good and fun race on Sunday. When the big guns return I think the Taxi is ready to race, and we can battle it out for supremacy of the mid-pack.

Regards, RP

Robert, don’t you mean back to back to back?
