R3 Head and Neck restraint demo available.

#1

My brother Jeff and I have just been made dealers for Safety Solutions, the maker of the R3 head and neck restraint system. We hope to have a size large unit for demo at CMP next week, so stop by the Coachmen motorhome and try it on and take it for a spin.

Tom - sorry you didn’t get into this sooner. I just bought an R3 - the seat mount version, and am very happy with it. I used it at Rockingham for 4 races right out the box, including a 55 minute enduro and it was very comfortable.

Hmm…never heard of this system? What’s the price compared to a HAN’s unit?

Comparable. About $1k IIRC.

Yep, the Hans goes for over $1,000 when you finally get all the piece where the R3 comes complete with everything needed to race that day (including quick release helmet attachments that you want/need).

The biggest difference in my mind is the fact that R3 is NOT harness dependent. That means a R3 works in a students DE car that has DOT belts!

If any of you have been watching ALMS, I saw something that concerned me. After a driver change, SPEED showed a in-car cam shot of the driver going onto the track while still fighting to get his harness over his Hans.

Not a big deal for us since few of us ever do driver changes, but it made very clear to me the difference in these systems.

Tom and I will be at Road Atlanta and we can bring anything needed!
