Quick release steering wheel hub?

#1

I’ve been looking around for a bolt on hub for my soon to be done Spec E30. Having a hard time finding one? I remember a guy that had one that he said was from Smart Racing Products, but it’s a Porche part. Can any let me know if it works or any other brands availble? Thanks.

rogue engineering, works with momo hub for me.

Discovery Parts has a nice one. Positive action, only goes on one way.

If you are talking about the Ultra Racing quick release (which looks like a Snap-Off clone), that is, in my opinion, the best you can get.

I love my NRG Quick Release:

Easy on / off. Feels very secure when on - no slop.

Wish this thread was around last year…

Seems everyone else is happy with theirs. I have the VAC one, and it’s not fantastic. The steering wheel can move axially (i.e. in and out of the dash) about 1/16 - 1/8 of an inch. It is a steering column adapter and quick release hub in one, so it keeps the wheel in the same location as stock. The adapter was not machined to fit the steering column; instead, it’s aluminum, and gets pressed on with a bolt. They claim it’s removable.

Has anyone tried this one?

I’ve had this bookmarked for quite awhile but haven’t taken the time to research it.

Yes. Had this one on my 944 spec car. light, but you need two hands on it to release it. In an emergency, it is a tough one to deal with. I like the NRG release…I can use one hand to remove the wheel.

Thanks for the reply. I ordered the NRG unit.
