I have a theory that the OEM spec for our oil fill is low. I think it’s closer to 5 liters, then 4.2. All the E30’s show 4.2 liters in that link, but what about the oil cooler? I bet it takes the better part of a liter to fill the plumbing and cooler. That means at or close to 5 liters which is 5.5qts.
