Putnam Results

Race 1 is up, not too exciting. Anthony qualified on pole in a very short qualifying session, in the race it was a little damp at the beginning and Anthony checked out in the mixed conditions, great driving on his part. Sean and I had a good little battle for the first part of the race. Unfortunately Carl got to the grid 5 seconds too late and had to start way behind the main pack. I ended up getting first because Anthony got dq’d for weight (he was barely under). I think we all know he won that first one but I guess I’ll take it.

I had a pretty good practice but in qualfying the tires were done, I went a second slower, they had 12 heat cycles fyi but 4 races. Anthony ripped off a 1.22.3, holy crap I was in trouble. I was pleasantly surprised to keep in him in sight for part of the race but he was a demon in traffic and pulled away. Fun race though. I tried the high pressures again and the car was good for a little while but then went to hell. The tires were similiar in heat cycles to the crappy qaulifying set I used so that might have contributed to the problem. My next set will be RA1’s.

Simon, it was fun racing this weekend. I’m enjoying NASA very much so far!

From what I understand, my qualifying time doesn’t mean anything as far as track records go. In the race, I did go quicker than your previous track record, but your 1:22.983 (iirc) was .015 faster than my quickest, allowing you to reset your own record! Congratulations!! :cheer:

Nice pics Simon! Sean had some great pics too. He has full res images of your car (posted earlier in this thread).

I need to save the pic of me in front of you at the start. That never happens. :slight_smile:

It was great to race with and meet everyone at Putnam. I’m already looking forward to the next event.
