Problem with disconnect switch

#1

Or maybe not a problem.

I get the switch all wired, and then my car will not start. The starter engages but will not turn motor.

I move the lockwasher on the switch terminals from ontop of the cable lug to between the cable and the switch housing. Doesn’t seem to help.

I always just lazily push my cables on the battery terminals when I’m testing stuff. So I go back and retighten the battery terminals with a wrench just to be sure. The car magically (well not really magical) starts.

Does it sound like I have another problem that may have been made worse with loose terminals? I can’t believe it didn’t start that way, it always has before.

it draws a lot more current when cranking so I can imagine that loose terminals would cause that problem. Try roughing up the interior of the battery post clamps.
