Pre Race Checklist

Don’t know if anyone can use this, but I look at it before every race…Thought someone else might find it useful.

[color=#0000FF]2-3 Months Register for event & Make Hotel Reservations

3-4 weeks - Make sure race tires are ready, wet and dry (heat cycle if needed)
2 weeks - Have car pre-tech inspection performed.
2 weeks - Set up car, suspension, and test drive.
1 week - Get Directions to the track, if unfamiliar (Map/directions/phone number of hotel)
4 days - Run through checklist, make sure you got everything
2 days - Start charging batteries for flashlights, Hot lap timer, radios, video camera, etc.
2 days - Check truck and trailer tire PSI and operation
2 days - Begin packing all checklist items (Wash Car)
1 day - Get gas for car and tow vehicle, get food/snacks/water. Relax. Go to sleep early

Brain:

I used a checklist and then thought that I didn’t really need it anymore. Big mistake. Last race at Summit, I realized that I had left my helmet on the shelf at home…6 hours away. And I thought about it at about 11:30 Friday night. So I got about two hours of sleep that night.
