I removed my power steering pump during my engine removal and I’m not putting it back in. My questions is this; what do I do with the connections on the steering rack? Is there some place that sells bolts big enough to plug these? One, I believe is 22MM and the other is 19MM. Where can I find bolts that big?

I cut one of the hoses at the metal tube. then hose clamped the other end over it after throwing a little ATF in it.
Seemed to work.

I used the bolt inserted in the end of the hose and hose clamped it tight. Just get alot of fluid down in it first and leave yourself plenty of hose.

I’ve heard that you can pack the rack with a higher-density grease. On my first car, I just cut the belt and ran it as-is.

I had an 87 325iS that had a leaky rack, so it dripped itself dry and I drove it for 3 years that way on the street, nary a problem
