I’m working on the front end now and want to remove my power steering system.
Do I have to completely drain the rack or should I leave some fluid in for lubrication? Are there any plates or plugs for the line fittings from the specE30 parts sponsors?
Thanks,

If you leave too much fluid in, it will basically lock your steering so that driving at 100 mph will feel like parallel parking.
Found out the hard way…

We ran the rack lock-to-lock several times with the hoses removed and then plugged it with some plugs from this thread:
It has worked like a charm!

I had a short pipe made to tie both inlets together on the rack. That way fluid can still circulate from side to side. No problems so far.
