Possum, Possum II, Turbo

#1

Possum

Yearns for the forest
Yet lives on the road.

Well, actually he dies on the road, but you know what I mean.

Possum II

Possum, magestic creature of the forest
You are held in high esteem

Bold, Couragous, Intelligent
Your pouch causes envy

Beware the weasel!

Turbo

Whirl, whoosh, power.
Winter, cover, darkness.
Spring, octane, light.
Whirl, whoosh, power, clank, clunk, knock.

Bearing? Seal? Valve?
Baby Squirels in the impeller!

The above dedicated to Richard John, BMW Tarheel Instructor, RIP

Al

I’m almost certain this is one of the signs of the apocalypse.

(edit - no disrespect intended to Mr. John, if Al liked him I’m sure I would’ve too. My comments only apply to Al writing a poem about possums on an internet board concerning spec german sedan racing)

A haiku:

E30 driver
Step away from the keyboard
You are no poet

:stuck_out_tongue:

Steve D.

PS - I, too, mean no disrespect to Richard John. Or Al.

PPS - I didn’t expect to be pondering squirrels in my impeller this morning…

So sorry to see him go.

Will miss him much…:frowning:

A haiku:

Track is empty now,
The checkered flag was waived,
Winners not forgotten,

RIP, Richard

Sad news… a big loss to the Tarheel Chapter and BMW communities.

My heart sinks for Joella

What happened to Richard? I knew him pretty well and he was my instructor a few times many years ago.

Richard died last Monday of Pancreatic Cancer…This is very strange but one of my favorite corner workers at VIR died of it last year, Richard who I have instructed with for years, and now I just found out one of my recent students is battling the disease…what the hell???

Richard and Joella have been really instrumental in making the Tarheel BMW school a success. Even though I was sort of the token “loose cannon” they always invited me back and made me feel welcome. The last 2 times I saw Richard he told me he really enjoyed my writing and I should do more…hence the above.

As far as being a poet, no way, I heard those guys were fags!..quoted Spicoli there, no offense.
