I just wired up my homemade kewl shirt (no trademark infringement) cooler. It’s on like Donkey Kong, ladies!

You may want to check with the Roush club since they are conducting the Friday track day. Looks like NASA registration opens at 2:00 so I would expect they are arriving that morning to set up.

I just got the emails for the race and in the Enduro email I see:

“REGISTRATION hours are Friday during the Enduro Driver’s Meeting”

and after that it says:

“EVERYONE MUST attend the ENDURO DRIVER’S MEETING FRIDAY at 2pm in the Tech Pavillion.”

So it would appear that I need to be in two places at once. Anyone have a spare doppleganger they could loan me for the weekend (at least for registration and the drivers meeting)?

While that may not be too bad if you are 4 hours or so away from CMP, it pretty much sucks if it is a 9 hour tow. Leaving in the wee hours of the morning isn’t an a realistic option with the enduro being 4-7pm. Driving half way and spending the night isn’t all that attractive with an open trailer and the bed of the truck full of enticing stuff…

Do you have a fire system/extinguisher in the car  Oh the irony if it were to fail…

If you guys cant get in Thursday night for whatever reason, you are welcome to drive to Columbia and crash at my place Thursday night. I’m in a safe neighborhood, Plenty of curbside parking and 45 mins from CMP. Call me as I am not on here much lately…you know, work and all getting in the way.

Hey Geegar -

Speaking of catching stuff on fire, have you finished welding my 6th place trophy yet?

As of last night we have a 12 car field out of +/- 39 cars in lightning. Hopefully the rain will hold off so we can have a standing start.

SpecE30 1 Schwartz, Johan 1989 BMW 325 4464609
SpecE30 11 Zawrotny, William 1990 BMW 325i 2787345
SpecE30 21 Taylor, Alonzo 1987 BMW 325i 1684190
SpecE30 241 Patton, Robert 1920 BMW 325is
SpecE30 380 Jones, Brian 1987 BMW 325is 5979821
SpecE30 410 DeVinney, Stephen 1989 BMW 325is 7178415
SpecE30 53 Switzer, Fred 1987 BMW 325is 1168522
SpecE30 56 Gropp, Billy 1989 BMW 325i 4281734
SpecE30 6 Gress, Scott 1987 BMW 325is 1448026
SpecE30 82 Robinson, Jim 1990 BMW 325is 4513946
SpecE30 911 Patton, Laura 1987 BMW 325is 3340105
SpecE30 96 Levie, Jim 1987 BMW 325is 7578637

Looks like E30 folks Canterbury and Foushee are making enduro-only appearances. They will battle Schwartz, Robinson and Levie for E2 honors (along with a Miata and 2 Porsches). Good luck guys. I hope to be there towards the middle of that race.

Ask and ye shall receive… Behold, perhaps my finest “work” yet:

I wish I were going to be there. But since my car will be, you all can just pretend it was me that was driving when #82 whoops your a$$.

BimmerWorld stickers required on both sides of the car to redeem the loot (free set of front PFC 01 brake pads). If you need stickers, raise your hand.

When I think “flaming” I think Geegar. Well crafted, my friend!

You said something about the 82 whooping our a$$es, but the list shows IndyJim registered with that number? Oh well. I am sure Julie will get it straightened out.

BAM.

Steve D.

That is a cool trophy, doubt I can win it…unless I pull a vic. The 24 hours of LeMons folks seriously ripped off geegars artwork, not sure who tipped them off but most of the trophy’s looked like geegars work…

Dave White and I will be splitting the sprints so you’ll be in trouble at least once.

I thought I had a bad dream when I woke up at 2:00 a.m. this morning, but the email that I got from Tom Hall last night was in the inbox…his car is not working properly and will not make it for the enduro, where I was to co-drive with him. With all the email updates that I have gotten from him I feel bad for him, as he has been doing a lot of work to make this race. Here is an excerpt from his last email: “We can’t figure out why #5 cyl will spark when we test it by grounding on exhaust manifold but seems to not fire when on a plug in engine”

I was soooooooo looking forward to running that race.

So if you know of any seats that come available last minute, I would really appreciate it if you can let me know. Cell Phone 704-609-1844. Email: johan@endurancekarting.com I have a good set of RA1 tires.

See you soon,

Johan.

It’s a shame about Tom’s car. He put a ton of work into it in the last few weeks getting it ready for the Enduro. We spent the last few nights trying to work out ignition bugs and trying to figure out why #5 was dropping, to no avail. Other small problems proved that the car would not be in shape for a 3-hour run. I was really hoping you guys could get out there for the race too!

Where’s the results and the lies?

Sorry I missed the fun. We figured out the whole arrive and drive thing, except the plastic radiator expansion tank on my E46 didn’t get the memo, so I never arrived. Sux to be stranded 350 miles from CMP and 250 miles from home. Wasn’t sure the bandaid was going to survive so elected to bag CMP and limp home.

I get to spend tomorrow doing the permanent fix.

Y’all play nice tomorrow!

I heard through the grapevine that Dave White and Jim Robinson won the enduro and then Dave White won the sprint race on Saturday. Haven’t gotten the full download yet…

Jim and Dave did indeed win the enduro. Franklin and I fought a transmission jumping out of third gear the entire race. Try going through the carrosel driving with one hand and hold it in third for three hours!

I was afraid I was gonna get werewolfed friday night as I slept out under the stars…then I remembered that Jones gets a brazillian wax as part of his pre race ritual…

Lots of under weight folks saturday, they should all have to buy a 12 pack for the next friday night at the track…

Careful Al…Facebook is watching you! Time to go off the grid.

My recap to follow shortly.

#80

Short version:

Saturday. Qual 5th, DNF thanks to a 944 in the Caroussel. http://www.vimeo.com/4465528

The hit was in front of, on, and behind the rear wheel. Bent the rim (and probably the trailing arm) but we were able to get it down to 1/8" toed out, so I stayed for Sunday. Oh yeah. Jones also got hit by the 944 when he took evasive action to the outside.

Sunday. Qual 4th, finished first loser (according to Geegar). Kept it on track, but the right handers were a little loose. :stuck_out_tongue:

Steve D.

PS - IndyJim’s prediction finally came true. I left my splitter somewhere buried in the sand/gravel on the outside of the Caroussel. I miss the downforce, but the car is much easier to load on the trailer now.
