Oil substitution/replacement

I have just started the process of building up an 89 325i. I have a few questions regarding the rules and oils.

9.3.1.6.1 Engine oil may be substituted
9.3.11.5. Differential lubricant may be substituted
9.3.12.2. Transmission lubricant may be replaced

Does this mean that RedLine synthetic lubricants cannot be used for engine oil and diff since they may exceed the OEM specs?

Also, what is the ruling on replacement of power steering fluid (assuming I keep the p/s installed)? I was thinking of RedLine there as well.

I will leave the interpretation to Carter, but remember the E30 uses ATF in the power steering system.
