oil cooler lines

#1

I’ve been chasing an oil leak(s) on my car - currently I see the oil pressure valve in the filter housing is leaking. I see there is an updated repair kit, so I’ll be installing that. While in the area, its always worried me that I’m running original oil hoses to the oil cooler. Does someone sell braided replacements? Or should I just order oe?

TIA,
Gareth

There is a recent thread around here about folks fabbing custom metal lines with aircraft connectors.

yeah, I read that after posting this - that is one option. I was hoping there would be something off the shelf that works.

Thanks,

There’s nothing wrong with using the OE hoses. The pressures and temperatures don’t place undue stress on those hoses. That said, a 20’ish year old hose may deserve replacement just from age alone in the interest of reliability.

In most cities of reasonable size you can find a shop that can rebuild the lines at a very reasonable cost.
