So, we’re just replacing the rear end. No problem. The rest are just bolt-on items. Yes, you are allowed to delete the power steering. ABS has to be in the car, but it doesn’t have to function. Same thing with the dash as half of the cars don’t have an operational tach. Simply wire in a shift light from Summit Racing or wait for the engine to go bla, bla, bla, bla. I’ve got lots of spare ABS pumps as well as strut housings (although some may need new wheel berings. The $250 parts car is starting to sound really good. Robert (i’ve built a few of these) Patton

Simon,
Depending on when CMP falls (and my racing budget next year), I will proabably be at BeaverRun and one of the Mid Ohio races before nationals. Let me see how things go with the budget… but… last year I did two OH/IN races.

OK, OK, OK! I got my donor car last night. Clean, red, '88 "is" car with a broke timming belt as well as a whole engine and tranny to replace the bad motor. I originally wanted the plastic bumper but have gone through 3 of those on my other race car so settled for a aluminum bumper with the later version valace. Hopfully it has the big fuel tank. The seller was a retired Air Force pilot now flying for UPS. Very Anal. When he told be about wear on the drivers seat I was expecting the typicall trashed seats from a 200K car. NOT. Almost perfect except for a very slight wear. $$$ebay$$$
So now to get all the parts round up. Any of our venders have a whole SE30 kit with all the bushings as well as required parts?

I was going to be there anyway. I ran the whole season with NASA this year and won the GTS1 OH/IN title. Not sure when the car will be finished. Money not the issue but time and I am not going to pay someone else to do it. Maybe I can get the cage in and gather all the parts and then take a long weekend and transport some of the hard core SE30 guys to KY for a flash build like Carter did going from SU to SO.
My Dad asked if we could race both cars during a weekend, SE30 and GTS. I told him only if the are in different run groups and he pays the entry fees. I think I got him hooked on this crew chief thing.

good news Michael. We expect you at Road Atl. You need to work on your boy Kleinpeter and get him to dump his e36 and come race with us too.
Damion,
Never been to RA but maybe. Except for Mid-Ohio, the Mid Atlantic race tracks are as close as the OH/IN tracks. Maybe I can make the trip someday.
Shane is busy in NYC building a billion $ sky scraper for BOA. He was at RA earlier and ended up hurting his finger. He is holding our for ITS or ITR and see what happens.
I am looking foward to running the SE30 with the economic car and especially the tires.

I can’t wait to buy tires either.
Michael,
Welcome and Congrats on the purchase.
I got the OH/IN region rolling last year. Kappy and I had some good fun at Beaver and Mid-Ohio, and I’m hoping we get a few more guys to run this year. If Patton makes the drive from Hotlanta, then surely the rest of us can!!!
