Official Charlotte Motor Speedway Smack Talk

The garage would be pretty cool just for the experience but unless they are air conditioned, I kinda need to run the trailer AC for the kids, plus not have to unload the tool box, parts etc. How far away or inconvenient is the “overflow parking”? If its within walking distance I might could do both.

Wherever I wind up, I’ll have the Porta Cool system, all are welcome to cool off at our pit.

One more thing, all tracks seem to have at least one area to watch out for or make sure you dont screw up.
Where is it for Charlotte?

Entry in to the infield, aka turn 1.
At entry you will be as fast as you’ll ever see in an e30…about 130+. Miss slowing enough or screw-up a trail brake and you will meet an outside or inside wall.

Al can tell you about the wall leading onto the NASCAR oval.

+1 on T1.
Also keep an eye out for all the other cars that tend to spin in T1. in one race I think I had 4-5 close calls with cars that got sideways or totally spun right in the area where it narrows.

Fun track :woohoo:

+1 on this too. You can use these nimrods as picks for your competitors, like Robinson, Patton and Johan. Then, once a half a lap in the lead, you can rest on your cunning laurels and spectacular racecraft (aka pure luck), go into 9/10ths mode, and listen to JP recap how you threw away an easy victory. “Ask me how I know.”

Lowes kicks A$$! Loved that place.

Also be careful of over aggressive, poorly timed bump drafts. Brown pants are not a good thing if you’ve got a long tow home.

I’m not sure how much experieince you have on driving banking but make sure you are well set up going into the corners. People tend to drop the anchor there and the closing speeds become fast, real quick. Make sure you have a plan to avoid traffic as lifting or braking is discouraged mid corner.

This track is an absolute blast!!!

Jones

Do not expect any help from me unless that bumper is well attached…will give it a kick test friday morning.

Looks like temps are gonna be lower than normal!!

I have heard a few people say something about running AC at the track “for the kids” what the hell is this all about??

Al

No kids, No AC…well except in the garage at VIR…

Didnt I tell you I was planning to bring the kindergarten class from the local area schools? My Bad, they will be hanging out in the SE30 area all weekend. Theres about 88 of them, I’ll have no time to watch them since I’ll be learning a new track so if you guys could help out im sure you will get your picture in the paper.

Looking forward to seeing you again David. And definitely going to try to park near you and abuse the AC.
