Newsletter?

#1

Folks, Jim Pantas recently sent me a copy of the Thunder Roadster’s email newsletter (it was very nicely done) with a hint that Spec E30 should do one also (actually the hint was: “Spec E30 SHOULD DO THIS!”). So the question is: should we?
Pros:
I’d be willing to shepherd this project (at least for a while).
Might be kind of fun.
We can’t let the TR guys one-up us.
Cons:
I’m definitely NOT doing all the writing (I do plenty of writing in my job)
I’m visual arts impaired so it probably wouldn’t be “purty”.
Would it just be redundant with all the good stories and videos on this site? Do we even need a newsletter?

Whaddya think?

I like the idea of a newsletter, but maybe more than just regional - a NASA wide newsletter, so each region can submit stories. We can also grab stuff from here to use and there are always lots of great photos between here and Facebook to use.

You mean a NASA wide newsletter like this? http://www.nasaproracing.com/speednewsmagazine/index.html

If the TR folk had a website and forum like we do here, they probably would not care much about a newsletter… Seems redundant unless the newsletter is designed to target some other audience.

Speed News, meh, what they have going for them? We can do better. Seriously though, no. Fred suggested a newsletter and I thought it was a good idea, especially if we could use it to keep up with Spec E30 news across the country. Was thinking some simple newsletter specific to us. With Speed News, maybe we could get our own section and use it. They may limit the space we get though.

What about a Spec E30 podcast?
