New track in Starke FL - Nov 15-16th

#1

I know this was talked about before, so I wanted to bring it up again and see if any of y’all were going to come down to Starke FL,(about 30 min SW of Jax).

Registration is open and we have 2 Spec E30 cars entered. Come on down for a warm up before RA. We need some more Spec E30s racing down hear.

There is also a NASA race next weekend (Oct 11-12th) at Sebring if your itching to race.

Yeah… like he said! :woohoo:
I’m sure some of you Southeast sc®um are up to the challenge of coming down to show us FL folks how it’s done SE style!

#3

Plus we have plenty of gas in Florida

#4

I don’t know why the SE Region group is so quiet on this. ?? Assuming, I get the car back in running order, I plan to visit the new track in Starke. From ATL, it’s about as close as Rockingham. Also, where else to race in November? And a chance to try out your new track. So, count me in.

#5

I am seriously considering coming. Haven’t raced since June so I am having serious withdrawal symptoms.

#6

I’ll bring the WildHorsesRacing trailer down if we can get enough cars in it - $400 roundtrip from Charlotte - I’ll bring your car(s), tools, spares, etc., all you have to bring is your clothes B)

If anyone is interested let me know soon!

#7

Damn thats a pretty good deal, If I was not busy drinking in preparation for thanksgiving I would go.

Jim, wouldn’t it be nice to have an entire weekend to only race. I may join you. Any one else from Atlanta care to make the trip?

Regards, Robert Patton

Great isn’t it?! Even in the rain…where you might as well be driving a completely different track. How was your weather?
I’m sure it will be a LONG time before John and I get back there (21 hour tow, one way)

#11

Yes it was! It was only 12 hr tow for us, but it was definitely worth it! It rained a little friday morning but was nice and sunny (and 68*) the rest of the weekend. What a great place! We are already making plans to go back next year B)

#12

If my car is running, I may go. That is my birthday weekend. :stuck_out_tongue:

Bad news guys… just got this in my email:

November Starke postponed

Here’s the official word:

“Although the track management at ERS and Motorsport Park has worked very hard to accommodate us at their new track, it has been decided to postpone our Nov 14 and 15 event until additional track improvements can be implemented.”

The question was whether or not the track could get everything we wanted/needed/required/demanded in place by the time we showed up. The entry road looks like it was not gong to be in place either.

Bummer… :frowning:

I found out this weekend that we (NASA FL) were planning to try to run Starke in February as well - Hopefully that should be enough time to get all the concerns/issues taken care of. Fingers crossed.

#14

Well that sux, I had been getting car sorted out to come.:frowning:

#15

The democross at Al’s is available…

#16

Darn, guess I got my motor fixed for no reason.

:frowning:

:(
You should let us Democross your car to break in the motor. Its BMW’s preferred method really.

Exactly!

Well… there’s some truth to that. If the engine (and the car) survives the democross you can be pretty confident that it would survive a race weekend.
