New Hawk contingency award program

#1

1st $150
2nd $100
3rd $75

Have to have 4 Hawk decals on car. Don’t know yet how we get the decals. Don’t Hawk pads come with decals in the box?

This is not cash. It’s a Hawk certificate with a redemption code you would use to purchase Hawk products.

Altho there will be awards for both Sat and Sun races, only 1 award/person/weekend.

Is this cash or Hawk bucks? There has always been Hawk contingency even if you are racing as one of one in a class you could win 1st place Hawk bucks. I think the table at NASA events always has free Hawk decals. I have had them on all four sides every race. I actually claimed the Hawk bucks once, but you have to go to one of a few Hawk dealers who tend not to give the same great deals as other online Hawk vendors.

Figured I would do my own research. Here is the 2014 program:

http://www.nasaproracing.com/contingency/hawk_contingency_program/2014_Hawk_Contingency_Program_Guidelines.v3.pdf
• Only one reward per race weekend may be claimed. Highest finishing position from any classes either day is
eligible for claiming.
• Must have the 4 required Hawk decals on race vehicle while on track. (1 on each side, 1 on front, and 1 on
rear). Decals are available at the track from Drivers Information or Tech.
• Please NOTE; essentially the only requirement to collect your “Hawk bucks” is that you have the required
decals in place! That’s it!
The only change I see from previous years is that the payouts have gone from like $50 Hawk Bucks for first place to $150 Hawk Bucks. Also, you need 4 decals not 2.

Email I rec’d from Pantas says the reward is 3 deep, not just the winner. It’s not cash award, it’s a Hawk contingency certificate one would redeem when buying Hawk pads. I’ll updated the original post to make that more clear.

My guess is that you are right about the requirement for 4 decals on the car.

I didn’t mean to imply that only first gets paid, just that they have tripled the amount that you used to get from $50 to $150 so that it is actually worth claiming now. Plus now the Hawk bucks can easily be used at Hawk’s website instead of having to go to a vendor.

Update. The Hawk certificates have to be picked up during the track weekend. This is made clear on the Hawk Contingency form in the link above but I, for one, did not spot this detail.
