For those of you that don’t know, Shannon is pregnant with twins. I won’t be racing next year. Michael Osborne will be taking over as Great Lakes Series director. I hope to return on a limited schedule in 2011.

Hey, I am here. Been very busy this past year gutting and remodeling a new home. Plan to be back and racing full force in '09. I had a good converstion with Brian Cohn and hope for some new and fun ideas for the upcoming season. We all need to pitch in and help grow the region. Will be back and more active after the holidays.

Good Turkey everyone.

Great Lakes E30 guys,

For those that don’t know me here is a quick background of your new series director:

I’m 38, Live in Ashland, KY which is where OH, WV, and KY intersect. I am married (Shelly) with two step children Bryce age 12 and Brae age 9. I am a licensed PE in Civil Engineering in KY and WV and a partner in a GC construction firm that does commercial work mostly for the US Government.

Started DE back in ’98 with a stock BMW 635CSi Euro even with TRX tires on it. Turned it into a race car and raced BMWCCA Club racing starting in ’03. Purchased a ITS E30 and ran KP in Club racing then NASA GTS1. Won the ’06 GTS1 National Championship. Built my Spec E30 over the winter of ’06-‘07 and started racing Spec E30 in ’07. Only ran two events in ’09 due to buying, gutting and remodeling a new home. My daily driver is a ’96 E36 M3 and my wife drives a ’06 E60 530i. Have owned 2 E24’s, 1 E39, 2 E28’s, and have two parts E30’s and the race car and tow van Ford E350. I am an avid DIY person and do most all the work on the race car except welding in the cage.

My family goes to most all the races with me and my Dad is the crew chief. If you want to know how many pounds of fuel you will burn per lap just ask him. We typically have most of the spares that any E30 would need and if not we know who in the paddock to go ask for them. We camp in the car trailer most of the time and always have enough food for whoever stops by.

I hope to follow Simon’s lead and grow the Great Lakes Spec E30 force. After some discussion with you guys (for another trend) we may want to try some of the antics that the south has been doing or stay true to our serious side. I have talked with Bryan and have tossed around some ideas but would also like input from the racers, current and future. If anyone has any ideas or things they would like to see just drop me a note and we can kick it around. If you have any rules questions or suggestions please feel free to pass them on. Also, if you know anyone who has an E30 and wants to play let me know. We need to get all the E30 guys from DE at TT to give Spec E30 some serious thought.

Till later,

Michael

Glad to see you onboard Osborne.

Is it spring yet? I’m going into withdrawal and starting to drive my wife crazy…
