just came across these new brake backing plates for ducting
http://www.gruvenparts.com/Order%20Parts/Parts/E30%20Brake%20Brackets/E30_brake.htm

The vendor is looking for other things to make and sell as well.
cheers,

Bruce, thanks for the heads up. I have been weighing my option for brake cooling and none of the other options that I have found are priced reasonably. I might fabricate my own for a fraction of the price. The principle is basically to channel air to the rotors. That isn’t to difficult to accomplish with a little ingenuity and effort.

The backing plates you posted are 1/2 the price of some of the others but its still pretty expensive for what it is.

Nice find! Got a set and they fit perfect. 1/2 price rocks!!

Great find. Isn’t that a good price on the plates but a bad price on the 10’ of hose?

You may want to look here for hose:

Indeed! Without looking to see which part it was, I formerly used the heavy rubber exhuast hose for ducting. Unlike the fancy, overpriced silicone stuff this will take the abuse and heat without wear. Once you install this you’ll probably never need hose again unless it burns…by fire…

And it’s cheap.

i think it works out to $12/ft of the silicone hose from www.GruvenParts.com

I like that orange stuff, its very pliable yet very strong. unfortunately its aircraft ducting, so it aint cheap!

so yeah…great prices on the backing plates from www.gruvenparts.com but high prices on the actual hose, although i think thats high everywhere from what ive found.

I bought mine from OG Racing for $3/ft. Its not the same double walled, silicone hose that sells for 4 times as much but I don’t think my brakes are going to know the difference.

We bought this neoprene hose from pegasus for ours - about $4/ft - is holding up so far.
