need bump stops for rear bilsteins?

My spec e30 rear bilstein shocks didn’t come with an external bump stop on the shaft, and I saw some references online that these shocks have an internal bump stop. Do you guys install the stock bump stops on your rear shocks? If not, do I need to install that downward cup washer below the shock mount?

The instructions with the shocks also state that there is an internal bump stop. I only installed the shocks. However I am still in process of my build.

Thanks. Those instructions must not have been included for me. But Bavarian Autosport says that the rear bump stop is required. I think I’ll try the bump stop and see what happens.
