5 weeks out… Random questions are coming up:

Who is in?
Does Geegar really think Shelley will let him race again?
What alleged veterinary emergency will sideline IndyJim?
Will Levie have a car built by then?
Is Pshrink’s “carpal tunnel” story a cover to throw Ranger off his game?
Will Jones’ “tan” look any more natural in November?
What farm animals will suffer at the hands of Al?
Will Moberg or Rez prevail in the rookie-of-the-year drink-off?
Will Ranger get a weekend pass from the burn unit after his plasma cutter experiment?
Will Laura whoop up on the old man AGAIN?
Who will emerge as King of Augusta (Moses, Gropp, Haynie)?
Will Pantas let his daughter get her comp license so she can show all of us how it’s done?
Will any MidAtlantic racers have the stones to show up?

I know you have all been crying beer tears due to my absence this summer from NASA SE racing, but the end is near. If all goes well, the weak and frail #5 will return to action at CMP. A new head (via warranty), gaskets, plugs, and fuel filter will make her/him fit and fast. (we hope) installation and test start should occur by mid-October.

CMP is one of my favorite tracks and I expect good weather, fine racing, and better parties. (including Farm Animals By Al)

Looking forward to seeing y’all there.

I am signed up, Travis is in charge of farm animals.

Jon, welcome back.

With the IFU 3, and a completed season with the MA group, this should be one of the best attended races of the season. Did I mention that the SE racers have had a 12 week vacation?

No excuses not to be there.

The cage is in, the sun roof panel is back in, and the new engine is ready to go back in. I’ve got a month to get everything put together and race ready. So yest I should be there.

#7

With all of the Ofest discussion, and a full 3 weeks with no racing…
Well, who will be at CMP? IFU 3 is calling too. Could be the best/biggest/world record Spec E30 crowd. Can we do better than May '08 at Roebling Road when we had 23 (or was it 25) racers?

Others?

Attendance at RRR
5/17/08 23
5/17/08 IFU 29
5/18/08 25

29 racers for IFU2 who says that the SE is mediocre?

I’ll be racing the Sprints, but Fred’s laid up so probably no enduro for Team Gritzer’s Beer n Lingerie Emporium. At first I thought that I’d just get another enduro codriver, but now that I really have to do something about it, the idea of trusting my car to someone else is losing it’s appeal.

So I’ll be there Friday, but maybe just doing TestnTune sessions or instructing.

Just so’s you all know, now that Ofest is over, we’re getting on the stick for IFU-3.

I’m talking to Pantas about the cost for the overtime session, ScottMC is working on a shirt design, and I anticipate we’ll do a similar purchasing approach to last year, with a slight discount for early payment.

The actual race format is a closely-held secret, but figure on a bonus race at the end of the day on Saturday. Nothing else for the rest of the paddock to do but watch us go at it before the beer starts to flow.

Haven’t talked yet to Mr. Mom about a traditional IFU/welding shop trophy, but hopefully Geeger has learned to weld and change diapers at the same time. That’s on my list for this week too.

Tell your friends, screw the economy, and let’s get a bumper crop from SE, MA, and FL to come up and set a world’s record SpecE30 field size!

#11

I signed up yesterday for the Sprints. This will more than likely be my last race for 2009 and I can’t think of a better way to end the season than the IFU weekend.

Can’t wait…

#12

hmmm, IFU is tempting. It won’t be another staggered start I hope… IFU1 was the bestest.

#13

I should be there. Kind of a mess in terms of time and still need to put my transmission in, but I’m sure I’ll make it.

#14

I’m in!! signing up tomorrow!!

I would not miss the rookie of the year drink off and my first IFU race:woohoo:

Scott I would drive the enduro with you if you trust me enough with your car

Man, Skeen’s going to put his foot through the floor board on the first straight, pull in and ask Patton if he brought any spare cylinders. He’s a point and shoot driver now…

I’ve been signed up for a while now. Get some DeVinney.

#17

I am bringing the Panther - it’ll be doing double duty - HPDE 1 & Racing…

No you WILL bring the Panther and enough of the “double duty” excuses that you’re using in advance.

Gotta have the biggest Spec E30 event ever at CMP.Jim, you do want a big crowd, don’t you?

It looks like Team Gritzer will be in the enduro after all. Greg Moberg will be acting as designated driver in Fred’s absence. Which is ok because Greg is faster then Fred…which is what I told Greg.

What I neglected to tell Greg is that whereas he is faster then Fred, I am not.

For those of you that are unaware, Fred had to get surgery on his right wrist. It seems that he has been over-using it for years. When I asked him what he has been doing all this time to wear out his right wrist, he suddenly got embarassed and furtive.
