I don’t think pantas would mind if I took a ride with you!! I’ll definitely be down either Saturday or Sunday

Fish, what color are you telling NASA your car is? What color is “W/F”? “WTF”? “White w/ Fish”?
Kick buckets are nasty. I’m out for this one as well, will be racing the 25 Hours of Thunderhill. I still think that they shouldn’t run local events on the same weekend as national events like the championships and the 25 Hours. I’d do the 8 hours in a heartbeat if it wasn’t the same weekend. It just sucks.
-Scott
Scott, have fun at the 25-hour, but realistically, how many guys besides yourself are serious candidates to attend BOTH of these events? Also, NASA (and any other amateur organization) does not dictate dates to tracks, they select from a very limited menu of dates offered by those tracks. For the other 299 people going to the Toy Run, the date is perfect. Sorry you can’t do both, but that’s just how it is.
Also, there is a BMW CCA Club race @ Roebling next weekend, with at least 5 regular NASA guys participating. The Toy Race date is really good for them too.
On a personal note, for me the Saturday race is going to be my own little IFU; I have an appointment in the AM that will make me miss practice and qualifying so will be starting even further back than I might have otherwise
Yea, Chuck, I guess I get your point, but it still sucks. I know quite a few guys that would run the 25 if there werent other local events on the same weekend. Just seems like there should be a way that NASA doesn’t step on themselves, but I do get your point.
Hey Walsh, why you trying to sell the car, hauler and trailer? Where’s the spirit in that?

There’s some. Get there early and bring a long extension cord.
Enduro guys: Every year for this race non-SpecE30 guys end up parking in our area because “oh we were here for the enduro”. I’m not going to be at RA early enough to be parking Nazi, so I charge you guys to police this. Don’t be nice. Jim publishes a parking map, this is not rocket science. If the car doesn’t have a roundel, it needs to be parked somewhere else.

we are coming in thursday night so we will try to enforce. does the track enforce the no campfire policy?
RA is almost all asphalt so any kind of fire would have to be in something. Tom Hall has a rig that is something like a 4’ dia. iron saucer on little stubby legs. Something like that would be needed.
Anyone ever recall someone building a (non-car) fire at RA? I don’t know if there’s a policy or not.

I am assuming Andrew was talking about camping/campfiring on the parts of the infield that are grass. I have seen campfires in the areas near the back straight (driver’s right along black flag) but never in or near the paddocks.
The times I have seen fires are usually during big events but I don’t know the official/enforced policy.

wherever we setup would be the spot. we have one of those fire pits like ranger described so hopefully it wont be an issue. looks like it will be cold at night according to the forecast
I have never seen anyone with a campfire in the paddock. I have seen many, many people with barbeque grills.
You are bringing a grill, not a campfire. Make sure to have some charred hotdogs on coat hangers - just in case.
