NASA-SE: Pot-O-Gold Rush Video Thread

#1

Figured I would start the thread so hopefully I will have some videos to watch this week. I only got to fully record the last combined DE3/4 session, but it was a really enjoyable session with some off line passing and some great cars. I really struggled with turn 3 on most of the laps though, but I was real happy to put down some 01:49s amidst the traffic which was my goal. I’m always open to constructive criticism if anyone wants to offer some:

Heck of a job keeping it together in turn 5 Jason. Wow that could have been ugly!
Amazing how far your head seems to move even strapped in. Good thing for RS Nets.

Saturdays Race: http://www.vimeo.com/21176131

Sundays Race: http://vimeo.com/21179568

Sorry for the delay, some of us work. Great weekend for WalshLakoracing. Scott had his first DE and Oliver the flying Frenchman moved into DE3. Qualified well in 4th Saturday finished 3rd after a DQ for passing under yellow for Johan and a little luck. Sunday I was moving a little slow and qualified 8th and finished 8th, but the race was a messy battle in the middle. Hard aggressive driving and fairly clean from my view. Way to many small but regular errors keep holding me back. Congrats to Devinney for the double win…nice driving.

taping a small piece of foam over your mic might help reduce the wind noise. nice video!

My wife peeled it off not understanding it purpose while video taping the last soccer game. Time to upgrade but I cannot pull the trigger on what video system. I liked palacios gopro set up but noticed your video is clear as well. What are you using. oh, nice dukes of hazard jump in 5. Hows the neck?

#10

long, loose, and full of juice. oh you said neck, sorry. it’s fine, although i’ll probably be investing in a halo seat before long. i get the feeling that i’m running on borrowed time.

my camera is an aiptek w/ wide angle lens, ioport mount, custom support bracket, and frankencharger (powered by the car). never has to come out and never needs batteries or charging. sound quality isn’t the greatest (too much gain) and the wide angle could be a tad wider but overall it’s pretty darn good, not to mention cheap.

Where did you get the wide angle lens? I seem to recall a thread talking about your charger setup and lenses, but I can’t find it. I’m gonna try and support the screen on my Aiptek next time since it is the only way to turn the camera on and off, and I think that somehow it is moving enough to make the camera think I closed the screen and want to shut the camera off.

sunpak cam-2110 $25 from amazon. the flip screen only shuts the camera off when it’s nearly closed, there’s a magnet that triggers a reed switch or something.
