NASA-SE: June Jam, Jun 17-19, Road Atlanta

#1

NASA-SE proudly presents the annual June Jam! at Road Atlanta in Winder, GA on June 17-19, 2011. This will be a fun filled event that promises to exceed all previous levels of NASA-SE quality events. We will have our normal schedule starting on Friday and continuing through out the weekend. This event includes:

High Performance Driver’s Education (HPDE) - drivers of all makes and models of cars can sign up and begin at the novice level (HPDE 1) and work their way to advanced driving skills. All drivers start with classroom instruction as well as an in-car instructor to guide you to drive your car at the limits. All of this takes place with the safety of a racetrack under controlled conditions.

Time Trials (TT) - Drivers will compete for their fastest lap times and win all types of contingency money and prizes. The beauty of TT is the fact that you can do all of this with only your street car and a helmet!

Sprint Races - All of the standard NASA classes will be participating, 944Spec, SpecBoxter, American Iron(AI), Factory Five Racing (FFR), German Touring Series (GTS), Honda Challenge(HC), Performance Touring(PT), SpecE30, SpecMiata, Super Unlimited(SU), Super Touring(ST), etc. Cars will be split up into groups and the racing will be intense to watch and participate in!

3 Hr Endurance Race - All of the standard NASA Enduro classes will be participating. Cars will be split up into groups and the racing will be intense to watch and participate in!

Teen Driver Survival School - We put teen and young drivers thru various drills and exercises to improve their awareness and ability to react properly to normal everyday situations that they’ll encounter on the streets.

Doh! I won’t be able to make this one due to my THSCC obligations - they have an HPDE & TT at CMP the same weekend. I’ll miss this opportunity to run RA.

I will be there, Racing!! I have seriously lost my mojo around RA so I figure going racing will help me get it back, the old Patton mentality!!

#4

Definitely planning to be there. Considering comp school, but will most likely do TTE instead.

#5

Go to the comp school if you feel you are ready!!!

#6

Also hoping to make this one. Going to make sure the A/C runs in the trailer though!!

+1 Do eeet!!

+1 You’re ready[/quote]Folks who aren’t absolutely convinced they are God’s gift to the racing community are EXACTLY the kind I want to see on track. Guys who think they are complete bad-asses on track after a few track days…

If you KNOW you aren’t ready, don’t do it. If you KNOW you will be the fastest dude there and will barely have time to respond to Kevin Buckler’s harassing phone calls and Chip Ganassi’s incessant text messages, don’t do it.

Sounds like you’ll fit in just fine. Do it.

I will be their for my annual Spec E30 race. lol I made sure that this year I WILL have a cool suit installed in the car. I learned my lesson last June about that. I should be thier about lunch time on Friday and would love to do the euduro with someone if they have an open seat. If so PM me. Look forward to seeing everyone again and to some good close racing. Has anyone heard anything about the Spec E30 race at the short track across the street? ALLEN

#10

While it was only at one event, what I saw indicates that you are ready for comp school.

#11

I called Lanier Speedway twice about a circle track event and didn’t hear back. Anyone else want to try them? I’d love to do that.

I’m not going to make RA in June, and probably not Charlotte July 2-3. Car will soon be in pieces getting a home-rebuilt engine and replacement clutch/trans/diff. Anyone from SE contemplating going to VIR with MA on July 23-24?

I’ve only been on track once this year and starting to get antsy about making up for lost time.

Planning to do August RA and then Labor Day at Roebling, but need a fix before then if I can.

#13

My plan was to come down to RA in June, picking up my E30 along the way, but work and financial constraints put a quick end to that. Now coming down to CMS in July, with an additional road trip south to pick up my car. Not quite race ready, hoping for the October Watkins Glen event for its maiden voyage. Then it is on like Donkey Kong.

#14

there’s a fair to middling chance that i’ll be at the vir race in july. at least six SE guys were there last year, should be recovered from the heat exhaustion by now.

Thinking seriously about it if spouse and work permit.

Will not make RA but ALREADY SIGNED UP FOR CHARLOTTE IN SE30, I figure I have to have better luck than blown engine, crash, blown engine…

VIR is the weekend before the chumpcar 24hour, not sure if I want to double up…

Why would you think this time would be any different? Personally, I think Charlotte has it in for you. RA, on the other hand seems to be more tolerant. Maybe you should switch events…

Here’s the list. It’s looking a little light. A lot of Carolina and Virginia boys missing.

I edit AlK out because he can’t attend.

I see Garner’s coming so he can beat me with my oil pan. Again.

Good to see Matt Harness joining in the fun.

I can see the 985 car on the podium both days.
