To All Norcal Racers,
First I wanted to say thanks for taking the time to sign the Get well soon card for the injured corner workers. It has been brought to my attention by fellow racer Scott Neville that there is a collection jar set up at Thunderhill to help in the recovery of the injuried workers. Scott has suggested that we as the “Norcal Family” meet at the upcoming event and place our donations in a sealed envelope and sign it. I think that is a great idea and I am all for it. Lets plan on doing it just after the drivers meeting on Saturday.
Nasa Cornerworkers
Thanks Steve for taking my idea to the NorCal Forum. I got wind of the collection jar off the Camaro-Mustang Challenge forum (here’s the link:

So I thought it would be cool if the NorCal SpecE30 group could also gather up something for these guys who got hurt. It’s easy to take for granted the volunteers who make our racing hobby happen and it’s especially tough to see these folks get hurt.
See you at the track!
Cheers,
Scott Neville

Great idea Scott / Steve. I’m in, see you guys there. Hopefully the guys are doing well, and I’m sure everything we can do will help them and their families.
What’s the background story? I’d be willing to bet some out-of-region drivers would be willing to help injured corner workers, too. Can you point me to a link/paypal info? Thanks,
Steve D.
We were running Thill backwards and since there were Formula Atlantic cars that couldn’t run the bypass, they had erected another flag station between the two track paths. An HPDE driver missed the turn and ran into the flag station, injuring two workers.
Good idea, but not sure about whether there is a Paypal account, but I’m sure if you want to send one of us the money or a check we will see that it gets contributed.

Holy Cow!!
Please say they were not seriously injured…
Working a flag station should be something that EVERYONE with a comp license should do. This year will be the first in 5 years that I will not flag at least one event. It is a long day on your feet and it it is out in whatever weather Mother Nature wants to provide, but it is an enjoyable job and you have the satisfaction of protecting your buddies and seeing the action from a great vantage point.
I truly hope they will be OK.
Yea, same here - I think we were all a little scared for them.
I’ve been informed offline that there may be something done officially at NASA - maybe nationally, so please disregard my earlier suggestion of sending contributions to one of us to put in the jar.
Guys to Contribute to the cornerworkers speedy recovery, please send to the following:
Thunderhill Raceway Park
Attn: Personnel Manager
P.O.Box 966
Willows, CA 95988
Make sure to let them know your contributions are for the injured corner workers from the May 3-4 NASA event.
