Local (to Atlanta) place to get tires and rims?

#1

It’s time for me to buy a set of tires and rims. Is there anywhere local to the Atlanta/Athens area that anyone can recommend? I prefer to buy local where ever possible. Failing that, is there mail order vendor that anyone can recommend?

Thanks,

Andy

I can not help with a local source for you. I ordered RA-1’s from Tirerack.com. Two days later they were on my door step. Shaved and shipped for $715. Hard deal to beat. They also accept Toyo bucks.

TireRack, while great (I order all my street tires there), will never be at the track to help you. Support the tire vendors that come to your local events.

Can’t beat this if you want them shipped to you.

I"m trying to get a tire and wheel package before RA on 6/15. Because of my work schedule, I’m not going to have time to get the tires mounted on rims before I head to the track on friday afternoon. The only place I can find that sells the tire and wheel package is philstireservice. Their prices seem pretty good.

Try discount tire. I bought my drag wheels from discount tire, and they carry toyos but Im not sure about ra1.

Phil’s would be a fine choice and Tire Rack has multiple good SpecE30 sized wheels and they will mount up the RA1s and have them ready for you as well.

Call Tom at OPM at 770-886-8199. He can order rims and probably pick up tires from Appalachian at another race between now and NASA June RA. That saves shipping costs. He can mount and balance. They are in Cumming.

I just installed a set from Tire rack that they shaved and heat cycled. They will also mount and balance tires for free if you buy wheels from them at the same time. We have been running the TR motorsports wheels for a while with no complaints. Cheep and Legal.

Shipping and tax is usually a wash unless you have a commercial account.
